Synopsis: The Machines of Heaven

Elosia. A brilliant speck in the infinity that is the universe. A world that has seen the comings and goings are countless eons. Gods and monsters have ruled here, and where they once trod mankind now claims dominion. The ages of bronze, iron, and steel and their wars have passed by. Wars of conquering and religion. Now the nations of the world rule by The Sword, Sorcery and Steam and the will of the aloof Sorceror Kings.

Two nations stand on the edge of war, tired of being confined within their borders, The Empire of Geist, the lords of sorcery, and The Technocratic Union of Abernath, the unrivaled masters of the machine. Tensions are high, and the slightest spark could set off a terrible confict of unparralleled destruction. Both sides prepare in secret against one each other and the other nations scramble to make alliances for when hell breaks loose. All sides are building weapons for the coming storm. The Technocracy has finished one.

Immensely powerful whose limits can only be guessed at built into the body of a girl. And she's been stolen.

Greyson Carlyle. A former city guardsman of Abernath and prisoner of war, he finds is life in danger after rescuing a young girl from the agents of the Technocracy. But it isn’t just her they’re after. What happened during the Six Hour War of Abernath? And what is the signifigance of the tattoo of the Sigma on his neck?

Alpha. A girl with no memories of her past. What do the Technocracy want with her? Why is the man called Dominus so obsessed with catching her? What dark secrets are locked away within her?

Dominus. A man as brilliant as he is mad. A vile killer of men, he revels in bloodshed. He is called the Void Knight of Abernath and he seeks to bring Alpha back to his masters, alive or otherwise. But he has designs of his own. What evil lurks in the heart of this man? Why do the magi of Geist fear him so? Who are the Void Knights and what is their connection to the lost Sorceror King Nephron Ka?

Julius Saberhagen. A mercenary for the Empire of Geist. Why does he and the Air Pirates want Carlyle and Alpha for themselves? Why do they seek the treasures of Makai?

All these and more seek Caryle and Alpha for their own ends. The Dominion of Man stands on the tense brink of war. And on the edges, like carrior birds, lurk the Barbarian Tribes of the Elves, the cunning merchant warriors of the Orcs, the mercenary lords of the dwarves, and the raiders of the catlike Mao Under the earth are the iron hive engines of the engimatic Vrex, insects with a masterful skill of clockwork and metalurgy who wait to pick up the pieces.

What does all this mean anyway?

A cast of heroes and villians have been tossed to the hands of fate, each with their own agenda and purpose, and in the middle is one girl. Mysteries within mysteries and plans within plans. Questions, answers, conflict, despair, and hope await.

And the machines of heaven watch from above, unfeeling and cold.
