Synopsis: Fortuna
An exploration of the concept of 'luck', set against the backdrop of England in the year 1812, considered by some to be one of the worst years in British history.
Despite being raised as a town apothecary's daughter without benefit of a mother, Miss Gwen Maddox had always considered herself to be a particularly lucky individual. When she was given a large fortune and a chance at future happiness, it seemed to Gwen that nothing could stand in the way of her destiny. Then, Miss Maddox met Tom Bradford, and she would soon learn a lesson or two about the capricity of fate.
Wow, that really sounds like the plot of a bad romance novel, doesn't it?
