There really ought to be a Chattanooga category under regions. Tennessee has four distinct cities: Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.

I'm half way between Knoxville and Chattanooga. Although I normally affiliate with Knoxville, I find myself heading to Chattanooga sometimes and would be open to a local NanoWriMo get-together down there. Hopefully we can get Chattanooga setup as it's own forum.

I'm lobbying for a Chattanooga region for NaNoWriMo. If anyone else is interested, please post in my thread here:

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1004335

Right now it looks like no one else is interested. If enough people agree, maybe Chattanooga will be setup.

Thanks,
Bill

Normally I'm affiliated with Chattanooga, but I'm away at college this year. Good luck, everyone!

I'm here in Chatt. I agree we should have our own district. So this is my first Nano, how about everyone else.

Cybele is the official forums person. Have you emailed her with your request?

Someone in the other thread sent me the name Erin, Headmistress of ML (Municipal Liasons), to ask the status of Chattanooga. I sent her an email and am awaiting a reply. Apparently the staff prefers to create a region when there is an ML to manage the region's forum. So if there isn't a Chattanooga ML, they'll be looking for one. I could be that one perhaps but I don't know if I want to and I'm only a NaNoWriMo sophomore (2nd year) anyway. They're looking for candidates with some experience with the program.

Tell Erin that Mortaine, long-time Santa Cruz ML, has offered to mentor and help if needed, since I'm going to be in Chatt this year for most of November. And of course, consider this comment the offer to mentor and help as needed.

This is my sixth NaNoWriMo-- last year was the first time I didn't win. This year, I have a great and abiding hope of victory. :D

I am in Cleveland, which is about 10 mins away from the edge of Chattanooga so I usually align myself with Chatty.

I am a NaNo freshman as well, hoping to finish this year. Already brewing ideas.

I'm in Cleveland as well, and I'd love to see Chattanooga become a region all its own. :)

I'm a 3rd year Wrimo (guess that would mean I'm a junior), but I've only won once, and I live in East Ridge, right above the state line. I'd love to see Chattanooga gets become a listed region. Either there's not enough interest from folks around here, or those that do play NaNo just don't post to forums. I only do rarely, just so I can introduce myself and wish everyone good luck.

So, Good Luck! Here's hoping I can make the goal this year!

I got some info from Erin, ML Headmistress, about becoming an ML. Chattanooga simply needs an ML (Municipal Liaison). I cannot be that person this year. I will barely have enough time to write my novel this year as it is. You need to have been a NaNoWriMo participant for at least a year or two already and be around the area where you'd re like to be a liaison. If you're interested, contact Erin (quickly) - erin@nanowrimo.org - or send me nanomail and I will be happy to forward her message to you explaining how to sign up.

OK, Bill. I've sent Erin an email to volunteer, and hope to convince you that it's really not that much work at all (so you can do it *next* year!)

The Kick-off Party will be at the first write-in I organized on Saturday, November 3. 5 PM. See the other thread for details.
