Hi Kristina, I'm in Sequim too. Last year we had the Sequim meetings at my house and we also got together with the Port Townsenders.
Welcome aboard!

I'm a newbie too, from PA....I'd love to connect with folks.
I'm a paper and pen writer, so doing this with technology is going to prove additionally challenging.
I'd love to do some related gatherings, and get to know some other novelists in the area.

I would like to see about creating a support network of writers. I have a one more class from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and Tuesday classes from 5-7:30 p.m., but some folks would like to gather Saturday or Sunday at a coffeehouse or someplace for a breakfast pep rally.

It's my first NaNoWriMo (although a friend has given me all of her advice from last year). It's going to be a bit of a challenge to find the 3-5 hours per day needed to meet my word count (especially since I shooting for closer to 80,000 words and I haven't completely nailed my outline and character dossiers). But I'm working like a beaver to try and get in good shape for Thursday's kick off. (I haven't mastered all the site features and it seems incredibly slow -- probably because the traffic is tremendous right now).

Best of luck to everyone and it would be great to have some kind of gathering at the end to celebrate our chutzpah.

Okay, I'll take the elk by the rack and say that I'll be writing at the Itty Bitty Buzz on 1st Street in downtown P. A. (2 doors from Port Book & News and with WiFi; First Street Haven just across the street for brunch) on Sunday between 9 a.m. and at least 11 a.m.

If anybody from the area wants to hook up, look for the old lady with the white iBook. I'm going to be doing a marathon catch-up writing session so bring your gear and we'll make it a working session more than a social session (although, socializing will certainly occur!).

We can certainly exchange our favorite support references and tips. (Anyone really familiar with the San Juan Islands? I need some info. It's either that or move my setting to something less realistic...)

I hope to meet some of you!

Okay, no one showed up at the Itty-Bitty Buzz today. I think I'm going to plan on hitting it again next Sunday (11/11) because I got a couple of thousand words done there this morning and it's a friendly enough place, I can ask someone to keep an eye on my stuff when I need to hit the restroom.

I'm going to be having a web development meeting/training session at Hurricane Coffee in Sequim (Washington & Sequim Ave.) on Monday, 11/5 from 9 - 11 or 11:30 a.m. If any NaNoers want to hook up around noon, look once more for an old lady with a white iBook and a pink & orange variegated scarf and a beige Land's End attache case.

Back to work. I'm shooting for another 3K today which should get me to the 10K I need to catch up for my personal goal. I'm in the boring scene setting section at the moment. As I said on my writing blog this morning, I keep having to repeat Baty's mantra — "It's quantity, not quality."

Hope to meet someone tomorrow!

Anyone up for a walk at the Voice of America over the weekend?

Okay, I'm going to be at the Itty-Bitty Buzz on First Street in Port Angeles on Sunday, 11/11, from at least 9 - 11 a.m., if anybody wants to join me for a NaNo Writing session. I'm running about 2 days behind and need to catch up. (I knew I shouldn't have allowed my MC to go to bed!)

And if I'm still looking for information about the San Juan Islands (I thinking Lopez at the moment, but I'm up for any other island info) particularly in the months of January through March. Thanks!
