This is a historic moment!
Thailand has its very first own forum on NanoWriMo!!

Welcome everybody.

I am Anette and bangkokwriter and i am the ML for Thailand.

Last year, we had a small informal group of writers from Thailand and Laos. we organised a lot of write-ins, mostly on ms messenger, and we ALL made it to 50,000 words! and it was a great experience for us.

Certainly for me!!

I am planning a 'face' meeting on 31 October at the Starbucks Emporium to get us all going and i will be here online most of the time.

I want to write my next novel!!

introductions

scrolling rapidly thru the forum noticed many people know one another and others are in other countries!
glad to be among you and as i am new to thailand and nanowrimo thought i ought to introduce myself
i am dan thompson from the states with a brit mother and writer of books in many genres, a teacher at
thammasat in rangsit, writing lit fic this year (i thought it would be a thriller until the day before brainstorming
a plot for my wife that went so far for myself i HAD to do it- anyway i don't even read thrllers- just thought that
would be easier to keep plotting along...) also writing a satire of falcon of siam almost finished, an anti-career
book i think i will ditch, and finishing editing DIENR DHARMA (life's work) for self-publication through lulu
i am a member of the bangkok writers meet-up but this month will dedicate to attend any nanowrimo events!

i welcome any quick posts re: who where we are and what we are writing
i also welcome any mentors

Is it really Day 2 already?

If you don't start, you'll never finish -- at least that's what I told myself for about six hours tonight before finally taking the plunge and getting a whopping 552 words written. But hey, that's over one percent of the way, right? Right?!?!

It's certainly going to be an interesting month. :)

P.S. Thanks to Anette for taking on the ML role -- and sorry I couldn't make it to Empo on Wednesday. I hope there will be another opportunity to gather on the other side of the victory line! In the meantime, I look forward to seeing y'all here and on MSN.

Plot (or lack of)

For those of us who are struggling with plot, or may find our plots running out of steam or just getting a bit tedious at some point, this link to one of the main forums is worth a click! The ideas are actually quite sensible, guaranteed to move your plot forwards (not necessarily in the direction you were intending, but hey . . ) and will stick the odd twist in as well. Perfect!

Now, quite how I'm going to manage to arrange the birth of a baby in a scene between two males in an office in a university is a bit . . . well, think I'll go off down the pub and try to work it out over a few beers!
