My mind was wandering the other night when I came up with a great idea.
Some of you have probably caught the KLXY 6 p.m. news broadcast, where they ask you a question and ask you to e-mail in and "sound off" your opinion. So this thread is the same thing, only much more random.
Gossip! Whatever you heard on the news that you want to gossip about, real gossip about people you know (or don't), even nonsense gossip that you've totally made up. By the time we're writing our novels, hopefully there'll be enough meat in this thread that we could come back to it and pick up ideas for lagging storylines.
So my gossip: Your friendly Pullman ML is an idiot. I went to soak my feet in hot water, only it was two hot. Now I have an enormous second degree burn on the bottom of my right foot. I'm really ticked at my own stupidity.

Ouch. I'm sorry. At least you it wasn't your hand--injuring your hand would be tragic beyond imagining this close to November!
Umm... I really don't have much to report about my life or the lives of others... I heard they caught this 800-some pound shark over in Florida... kinda unsettling, but potentially inspiring if you're writing about fishermen or you just randomly feel like inserting a shark into your story.
In other news, I had to read the part of Dogberry today in Shakespeare. You know, the part about him being an ass. So I had to declare, loudly and repeatedly to my class, that I was an ass. Entertaining for everyone else, I'm sure.

That's okay. :) There really IS no "Ouch," because I have no feeling in my feet. Diabetics have this same problem, which is why you hear so much about them losing their feet.
Re: Dogberry. I can add to that! This last weekend I was part of the group that was behind-the-scenes on our Church's retreat, and there was a miscommunication between us and the other two group, and we thought that the retreat's biblical theme was going to be John 14:12, but it was actually John 12:14. The difference:
John 14:12:
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father." [Which makes a WHOLE LOT more sense.]
John 12:14:
And Jesus found a young ass, and sat upon it...
So, uhm, yeah. That was a bit perplexing.

.......................Remember when NanoWrimo had that thing about a Peruvian double agent with a taxidermed muskrat?
Well. I've been petting a taxidermed muskrat for the last week or so. It has friends, too -- a whole slew of taxidermed chipmunks, taxidermed mice, taxidermed ground squirrels.....
We're moving on to taxidermed rabbits this next week in Mammalogy. .......It's so weird, to sit in lab, just kind of staring at these skins of animals with cotton coming out of their eyes and mouths...... yeah.
My TA for the class studies chipmunks. The ones he's working with only have one difference: the length of their baculae (I'll let you guys find out what that is). His mentor guy's been annoying my herpetology professor with baculae jokes.
Okokok. So that's Moscow, not Pullman, but I bet WSU has an even better dead animal circus than UI does (live animal places are vivariums -- what are dead animal ones? Necroriums?).
....We don't have any dead donkeys/mules/asses -- but we do have live mule clones. They sometimes pretend to be dead, though.

o.O
...But more importantly, do you have a bubonic squirrel that you could bring to write-ins??

Oh man, you guys. This random girl I've never even met before just (relatively speaking) came up behind me and said in this serious voice, "Aren't you supposed to wait until midnight to do that?" Scared the heck out of me. She thought that I was starting my novel early. X-D
Naturally I invited her to join our madness, but sadly she declined.
