Hey hey hey, it's approximately two weeks before the madness starts, so let's get our creative juices flowing, shall we? So come on and share our plots to everyone -- basic stuff lang. If it's still unclear, then write it here, so we can help you out too. =)

Okay here goes. I'm supposed to do an Ibong Adarna remix novel (as in remake of the Pinoy classic story) but I got too lazy and I feel intimidated with the entire thing. So I went simpler. My novel's working title is Red Meets Blue.

*copies the plot post from another thread*

Marianne has gone through too many bad faith/religious experiences that she decided to quit it altogether and just believe in nothing but herself. She led a life that she wanted, living on her partying, boys and her occasional singing gigs that she get. David is the "regular" good guy - goes to church, volunteers for the orphanage, and is even the guitarist and manager of one of the upcoming local Christian rock band. The two meet in a blind date set up by David's best friend but they totally clashed. However, the David's band's female vocalist had to leave for a family thing, which leaves their band incomplete, which totally stresses David out since they were scheduled to perform at their first major gig as a front act of a foreign artist. David must find a new vocalist before the deadline, and guess who comes his way? Marianne, of course.

Now the goal here is to make the two of them REALLY annoyed at each other, but still curious at how the other people can act the way they do. Eventually, they kind of fall in love, but not without other people butting in (like David's "fling", Marianne's other guys, etc).

It's a cross between religious, chicklit/ladlit (kind of) and romance. But I don't want it to be too mushy for romance that's why I veered away from it. :D

I'm still working on this one, obviously, and I find joy in finding plot ideas in every day events. :D

Share share share! =)

Well...to be honest, I still have no concrete plot yet though I have a list of a few ideas to make a plot on.
My first one is about vampires so it's gonna be a vampire story.

and nice plot tinamats. it's good. :)

I have no plot. Just notions and characters. Certain scenes are in my head and I intend to incorporate a sort of letter exchange between two characters. I like putting twists in the very beginning, I just need to figure out what the twists are XD There's gonna be a fair amount of characters, with one central character doing a sort of memoirs thing. So he/she will be going around looking for people whom may have come into contact with the subject of the memoir.

Still debating on a funeral scene but if I get desperate, why not? XD

authoressninja: I once wrote a vampire story...but it sucked. Haha really sucked so much I threw it away but I remember my main character entering the vampire's house and lots of bats welcoming her. Eeeeergh. Haha. But if you need more plot ideas, this thread could help: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1000124

Addy: Haha I know the basic structure of my novel, but as for specific events they're still kinda hazy. I'll figure it out when the time comes. :D

I'm kim! hello po!

aah you guys already have a title??
i have my plot pero wala pa akong title..
my plot:

I got my inspiration from the Port Arthur massacre (my friend was actually in the scene) and Texas chainsaw massacre.. mine wont be gory though... :D

it's a suspense/thriller.. plot ko asa australia.. hindi pa ako naka pag roadtrip sa pinas so i wouldnt know what that's like heehee

It's about a young girl (havent fully decided but she MIGHT be 18). She witnesses a murder right in front of her (need a location..) and escaped death.. her boyrfriend did not survive and MAYBE he got killed infront of her. She went on a road trip with her friends (maybe 3 or 4 friends?) on the advice from someone who had a great influence on her but NO idea who yet.
(i was SORELY tempted na one by one ma murder sila but that is just too cliche haha and people might think i'm copying from the movie)

Anyway she and her friends stop at this small town and they all go mountain climbing.. smimming in the lake.. It's just this really beautiful peaceful place. She was actually beginning to like it. (i might make her meet a guy in town but i havent decided on that yet, should i be nice and give her a new love interest?)
ONLY she witnesses another murder. She tries to tell everyone but no one believes her, not even her own friends. They think this is a result from her traumatic experience of losing her boyfriend. Now it's up to her to prove to them she's not losing her marbles but what if she starts to doubt her own sanity as well?

Should i insert a romantic interest?? only, i like her to be so connected with her old bf..

I know mine will most likely be crap but i dont care, i just really want to finish this.. heehee i'm thinking of making my main character filo heehee i dont even have a name for my character yet..

anyway.. anyone got any advice for my title????

Hi Kim!

I used to have a story like that, which I patterned after Scream. :P My main character (named Kimberly) survived a massacre with two friends and they transferred to another place...where they met the twin brother of the previous killer who killed almost everyone in her class. She and her two other survivor friends were the only ones who were seeing the killing, so the other people don't believe them. The first novel was entitled "The Farewell Party" since all of it happened during a farewell party hosted by the killer, and the second one was "The Retreat" since it happened in a retreat house. :) Haha. The stories sucked seriously, but I kind of liked it. :D

Romantic interests for your MC would be fun, but make her hesitant she's connected with her old boyfriend. Kind of like, "I like you, but I haven't really moved on" then it turns to "I really like you, but I'm afraid you might get killed because of me". :D

As for title...you could base it on where she would be, like a resort or something..or something like The Vacation (corny title, I know). I'm not good with titles either, sorry. :D Try dropping by the Adopt-a-Title thread in the Plot Doctoring forum; you might pick one or get inspired there: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/1000450 :D

Good luck!

Addy and authoressninja: That's really not a problem...hehe. Seriously! :) Sabi nga ni Chris Baty (the NaNo director) sa book nya, most planning usually comes the week before NaNo starts...and sometimes people even go as far as Week 2 or 3 na walang plot, puro characters lang. :) Don't give up! :)

Maybe we shout start our own local Adopt-a-Plot? :) Hehe so we can throw ideas at each other. :D

I'm winging it, as usual, this year. Not sure what I'll be writing about, as I've been doing chick lit all this time for NaNo. I do make an outline, about a week into the novel. It helps me figure out my endings (always have trouble with those) and helps me remember where I want the story to go, and if it flows naturally. Which reminds me, I must check the posts from the Pinoywriters Yahoo group...

oh...you guys are going to hate me T^T i'm serious about my plot, since i'm planning to publish it because I love the concepts. But I'm also a big paranoid weaboo when it comes to plagiarism. D: well, what I can say is that it's sci-fi, set in the future, involves world domination, and oh the main is a 14-year-old with a 17- or 18-year-old love interest. :DDD oh, i'm dying to spill it actually XD

I get that. I myself have just thought of my story line. My tentative working title is "Everyday Unusual". I'll be writing about a boy who encounters strange occurrences as a matter of course. First time to write about a boy. Still in a contemporary Filipino setting. Part of it's based on fact; there's some interesting stories in my family that I've been dying to use.

LOL Yeah well, some of it's even reached the status of myth and family legend... it would be interesting to find out how true some of them are. Too bad both sets of grandparents are long dead, along with their siblings... the few left alive live in the US! My cousins are going to wonder about my persistent e-mailing about obscure family facts... LOL

Mine's a sci-fi spacefaring novel and its entitled File of Mankind: "Tungo sa Bagong Paraiso" or in its RPG Maker 2003 game version File of Mankind: "Towards the New Paradise".

It's set in Year 2150, mankind began colonizing other planets for superiority, resources and for the Mother Earth’s safety. However, Philippines found five larger Earth-like planets and they launched their first manned global mission and that's the GOMBURZA Expedition. 300,000 brave souls around the world shall be selected for this mission.

Aliens. Space Pirates. Fallen Space Stations and Colonies. A Damned Moon and... a Crazed Machine.

The story is about Japanophile girl who tries to find her place in the Philippines. She battles the stares, the insults, the criticisms and herself to show who she really is and fights for what she loves. She also exposes the inner workings of the Anime World, Cosplayers, Gamers and Fangirls. Her name is Marikit Tala, and she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. All her life, she knew she was different even though her family was super traditional. She began secretly growing in the fandom while her family fights to make her "normal."

Meanwhile, she lives her life like a heroine in a shoujo manga. She finds herself finding Mr. Right based on anime proportions and so, with this, hilarity ensues.... maybe she falls in love, maybe someone falls in love with her, but who knows? my brain is weird like that

That is my basic plot. What do you think?

I'm not 100% sure yet if this is the plot I'm going to use but here goes:

Six swords, Six Men. Each one powerful in their own right. Each sword will only answer to their own master. Each men must face their fears, accept their fate and learn to trust one another in order to conquer their sword and save their clans from being destroyed by an unknown enemy.

The character notes I made for this is enough to fill a 50 page notebook. And the longer I look at them the more I realize how big my world has become, and I don't have any idea yet if I should name my swords or not. And that;s not counting the numerous scenes stuck in my head.

...Mine's weird. I think it's partly lit fiction. The last time I did the NaNoWriMo I did Chick Lit that went all hormonal somewhere. So this year I'm totally dispassionate (is that the word) with a weird spin-off on Reincarnation.

I'm N.C. by the way. Disregard my old author's name. It's N.C.

My novel-to-be is called Memoirs of My Past Life. I cooked it up walking around Glorietta with my best friend, Pato, last year. It's a spin-off on reincarnation (already mentioned) and centers around a girl named 'Solea' (I think it means 'exalted one', 'showered by light'). I tried to write it last year but that didn't work, so I'm trying this year...I need a break from my four-fold novella project 'A Circle of Realities'.

Solea has this rare disease, kind of like asthma, that causes her to have weak lungs and at one point in her life, she'll just stop breathing. And only at that moment will it decide whether she will live or die. Will she start breathing again, or what? The novel is more of a series of disjointed essays on topics like 'Breathing', 'Water', 'Coffee', 'Love', 'Rumors', 'High School', 'Walls'...etc. Some are by Solea, others are anonymous first-person, others are comments by parents, scribbles in yearbooks, report-card comments...etc. It's kind of like a scrapbook.

I tried to blog this novel but it didn't go far so I'm starting from scratch again.

*sigh*

Hmm... I'm going to use a story I was cooking up when I was 17. I might retool it but the original plot was a 15 year old pinay migrated to the States with her mother. It's a little embarrassing because I kind of based it on Meteor Garden/Hana Yori Dango (hence the retooling).

In these cases, I really hate putting up spoilers of my own story. But aw well. :)

The name of my Novel is "The Medicine-man".
My plot is episodic in nature, meaning that each chapter is in a different setting but the character is still the focus of the story. It is going to be written in the first person so my character will be the one telling the story.
The plot is based on the character's experiences as a traveler in the world of Ancient Philippines. He encounters creatures and beings often and is doomed never to stay too long in one place but to keep on traveling. Therefore, he traveled as a medicine-man(or an albularyo in Tagalog). Join him as he wanders across the land, studying, healing or teaching, trying to help normal people to live in harmony with the creatures of the land.

I'm am not going to give out the name of my main character... yet. I believe you know why. ;)

Haha... Because I was cajoled by greyrook into doing this... ¬.¬

My first plot was supposed to be a mainstream fic. But because of lack of creativity, I decided to change it~ It's only the second day anyway.

...So the title is Cygne which means Swan in French. Basically, it's a retelling of Swan Lake. We all know that Odette, the MC of Swan Lake, was kidnapped and turned into a swan by Rothbard [yes, I'm a Swan Lake geek] and then here comes Seigfried to save her. This time, I was thinking of interchanging the roles of the characters.

Like the evil sorcerer had kidnapped and cursed the princess in order to save her from another curse, more binding than the other, that will be bestowed on her. And the knight would set off to retrieve the princess in order to place Curse#2 on her. Technically, he'd seem like the antagonist of the story, along with the princess's father and whatnots. And more or less, there's going to be a complicated relationship polygon between the three.

It's that complicated, yes ~.~

Hey everyone!

Basically mine is YA, but its more on the dark side. A teenage girl struggles as her whole life is taken away from her and new one is forced on her. Yeah, its totally common but it has a dark tone to it. :D
