Well, I live half in Jacksonville and half just outside of Heflin. Anyone else?

I'm in Peidmont. Though, I'm new to the area. Are there any meet-ups/kick off parties that generally happen around here?

Jacksonville here, too. Nice to see I'm not alone! :D
edit// and as far as meet ups go, I don't think there are any yet, but it would be simple to organize if there's interest. Y/N?

There aren't any meet-ups as far as I know. About the closes thing is the JSU campus Writers' Club, and they usually stay away from NaNo. They're pretty focused on short fiction and poetry.

Hi! I'm from the Weaver area. I haven't heard of any meetings planned.

Ok, it's not super organized or anything, but I'll be at the Oxford Starbuck's tonight from 5 until 7 or 8 and tomorrow afternoon from about 4 to 6 if anyone want to join me.
I'll be sitting outside most likely (weather permitting) and and tonight I'll be wearing a black shirt and leather jacket with jeans. (I also have short, dark hair and will be the girl with all the notebooks lol).

I'm a student at JSU, living on campus :) I keep saying to myself, "Aww, I can't be the -only- student doing NaNo!"
Unfortunately I'm stranded on campus (no car), so even if there are meets I can't make it to them unless they're close enough to walk to. ;_;

Good luck and we are routing for you!

Well, there's always the library or Java Jolt in Jacksonville if you want to meet but are stuck in town.

True! Both are nice little places. And coffee is always good. (Then there's the fact that I lack a laptop computer and have abysmal/slow handwriting)

I'm up for meeting at Java Jolt or Starbucks at some point. I live on campus too, but lucky for me I have a car. If any write-ins get scheduled, I could probably give rides to people who need them.

A little slow at the moment, trying to steal time between jobs and family issues to get some words down. I am up to 8135 word finally. I had lagged behind a bit Friday & Saturday, but late Sunday an idea popped in my head and I dumped a big batch or words out on the page.
Everyone keep at it and don't give up!!

Bleh. I've had to all but drop NaNo this year. Again. If it weren't for Game Design class, I'd probably be able to win, too.
