The only thing I find harder to do than name my character's is to name my novel. This year I have come up with a name before I started writing.
During the course of my novel, my second MMC is won by the Main MMC in a poker game. So I thought I would call my novel.

Like any good saga, the title of my novel gets straight to the point: The Saga of Aud the Deepminded

Hopefully I won't change my mind about my plot now that I've posted this.

I thought of my novel title right away. There's actually two parts to it. It's called Demonria: The Dark Chalice. I have Demonria at the beginning because it's the name of the world my novel takes place in, and this novel could possibly be a series starter, so I need a series name. Then I called it the Dark Chalice, because that is what the novel is a about. A chalice that holds the power of the Dark God.

Mine is .Blood of Crystal. I googled it a while back and found no matching titles. Woo-hoo - it's unique!

All good titles.
I don't have a plot or a firm idea what I'm going to write about.... typically!
I was just in Toronto and visited the Bata Shoe Museum.
Really! It isn't at all as lame as it sounds.
It was fascinating. So, maybe I'll be a pair of shoes and not have characters. I'll travel all over through the ages and have adventures. Kind of like in "the Red Violin". Did anyone here on the SK forum see that movie?

The Red Violin is a wonderful movie! Convinced the boyfriend to buy it on DVD a few years ago, so I can watch it whenever I like!

I have a dilemma. My NaNo entry this year is based on a short story I wrote, called "Battle Cleric." The novel will only use some of the characters in the short story...the novel itself will be entirely different. Now, the novel's plot is about the search for the Lost Prayer to the Gods, or a scroll containing the prayer, which turns out to be a powerful spell for resurrecting long-dead people.
So, by rights, I should call the novel "Battle Cleric: The Lost Scroll of the Gods" (or some variation on that latter part). However, just "Battle Cleric" seems to me to be cool and sort of snappy. I suppose I could change the short story title, but it has been out for a year now (not published, just free reading for forumgoers) under that title.
What to do?

I am calling my novel "The Black Leaf" but as always I sure I will hum&hah about changing it weekly, renaming it twenty times, and then returning to the original version once the novel is complete.

I vote for "Battle Cleric: The Lost Scroll of the Gods" because it's six words longer. If you have more than 50006 words at the end of November, feel free to truncate it then!

As of today, my novel is called "Inexplicable Excuses" but that's because when I asked my boss what I should name it, that's what he gave me. lol We had been talking just previously about students' lack of plausible excuses for handing in late assignments.
I'll probably change it though. Coming up with character names and titles is impossible! *sigh* This is why I stick to fanfiction. lol The characters are all named already. :P

Well, I had a good idea. Then I wrote it down and realized it was not that good at all. I looked at some online generators for the Fantasy genre and though "War of the Bloody Dragon" or "Swordِ Masterِ and Hunter" sound like truly greeeat and errr. . "evocative" novels, I have no plans of writing a yarn about dragons, whether bloody or otherwise, this time around. And Sword, Master, and Hunter is just not really my thing (though maybe if I added "servant" to the end it would work as a Depeche Mode Song).
Anyhow: working title is: " Winds of Kil’darn -- Book 1 -- The Herald Of Demise"
And by herald I mean something like a "crier" not just a guy named "Herald". X-P

It's been changed to many different ways, but whatever the end result, it's probably going to revolve around this. It's all explained in the first few paragraphs. :)

lol Hurley - good point. "Battle Cleric: The Lost Scroll of the Gods" it is...for now.
Cyurus, I really like that title. Guess it's always good to go with what suits you (I mean, I like it way better than the other two...too cliched).

There seems to be a lot of fantasy writers in Saskatchewan, if I'm reading the titles correctly.
I'm taking a shot at mainstream with "Paco's Provision" and I'm losing track of time doing it. I know with my freelance work that when you are in another world working on a piece, it's going smoothly and you're being productive. When you're checking the clock every few minutes and noting your word count as often, the article's not working.
This was the case with my sports column this week, but I admit my mind was on my novel. Tough to delve into the world changing issues of sports when you're wandering in your mind through the opening few thousand words of your first book.
All the best to everyone.

mine's a romance, and it's very loosely based on Elizabeth Barrett Browning's poem How do I love Thee? So I decided to use the second line of that poem for my novel title. Let Me Count The Ways
I thought it was pretty clever....

No title at the moment. I have no clue at all. And I'm doing fanfiction, so it doesn't matter to much. But as of now, it is only known as....
...
Unknown As Of Yet.
Good, eh? XD
