Hi,
I´m still in plotting stage. What do you do to prevent the sagging middle in the second act of your story?

Put a minor crisis in, or a potential crisis or pitfall for one of the characters - something to hang a bit of suspense on, something somebody doesn't yet know about, but which could turn out to be very heartbraking / detrimental / hazardous / souldestroying / irritating. Would that help?

Ugh, I'm dreading the middle, too... I just know that's what's going to be the hardest. Yikes!

I am dreading the middle to. That is where I have the toughest time. I hope this experience will help me with that. As well as the other writers here

And I thought only I would have this trouble!!! I am definitely afraid of a serious lag in the middle of my tale.
I know I got a good beginning and I even know (in vague generality) what my ending is going to be - but middle? How to fill up all that empty space with something engaging enough to keep me interested and writing? I've promised my faithful band of enthusiastic cheerleaders that this story may not make sense and have some serious plot holes.
I really don't want to make the Plot Blackhole, never to be seen again!!! :)
Of course, there is always those wacky dream sequences I'm considering....
