This is where we'll put our list of scheduled write-ins... you do not need to be an ML to request one! If you'd like to hold one on a day we haven't schedule one (or any meeting, for that matter) let us know, and we'll add it!

Our first Write-In will happen Wednesday, October 31... Writing to begin at midnight sharp. Start time, unsure. Bring your own refreshments; we'll probably wind up ordering a pizza or something, so if you can manage, you might want to bring enough cash to chip in for that.

As for the location, this is up in the air; use this thread to discuss where we would like this to be held, and when it will begin. Wireless internet access is pretty much a must, so that we frantic novelists may update our word counts, if the site behaves. Computers not necessary... ordinary pen and paper is welcome. :) That's what at least one of your MLs will be using. ;)

Our second Write-In will be held Saturday, November 3 at Joshua Cup in Macon, 2 PM until.

EDIT: Danielle brought up a fantastic idea, and given our reasons for choosing our co-MLs, I'm honestly chagrined that I didn't already think of it. With Violet being based in Warner Robins, and myself being in Macon, we can have simultaneous meetings in both locations. There's no need for WR folks to drive all the way to Macon, when there's several available locations in WR, and vice versa.

It was suggested at the meeting that Shane's house is one possible location (if he's okay with that... feel free to say no, Shane!) since he has plenty of floor space and wireless access. He's located in north Macon, near Riverside.

Would anyone be willing to volunteer a home or suggest a public place in Warner Robins for the first write-in? There's nothing like the charge of being surrounded by your fellow writers when the gun goes off!

I'm looking forward to the meeting on Saturday.

I understand the logic behind simultaneous meetings, and I'm not sure how other people feel, but I like the Macon people too much to never see them, you know?

It's more of a comfort thing; the place we're thinking of is quite a drive from WR... and I just don't want some wrimos to feel left out if it's just too far.

But have no fear, both of you... you'll still see us. :) I think it's mostly just writeins we're thinking of splitting up, and even then, if the interest isn't there, I certainly have no problem scheduling just one! This is YOUR group... I just send out the emails and make the final judgment calls on meeting times. :) We do what you want.

I third the feeling of Robin and Miri, and reiterate that I'd be perfectly willing to lead a carpool convoy from WR to Macon whenever the need arises, for those who are not comfortable with or able to drive that far. I'll even pick people up along the way.

Mooseling Taxi Service, someone call a cab?

-or-

Quickly, to the MooseMobile!

Couldn't decide which joke to go with. Although now I do have the inordinate desire to stencil a moose onto my vehicle...

I think we Warner Robins folk are outnumbered anyway, so I'd probably attend the Macon write-in given the choice. Nothing against my fellow Robinseseses, I just always tend to be more creative in a setting like that when there are more people around to bounce ideas off of. As Robin said, the more the merrier.

I'm not saying I'm against the idea of multiple meetings, because I realize everyone's scheduling and transportation needs are different. I'm just saying that I, personally, will gravitate toward the highest concentration of Mooselings. Creative osmosis, if you will.

As for this Wednesday and Saturday, my schedule remains free and clear expressly for the purpose of NaNo, so I will leave the deliberation on location to those with other considerations they need to plan around. Give me a time and a place and I'll be there, other Mooselings in tow if need be. Just send me a PM if you need a ride.

Thanks Richard! You guys have no idea how happy I am to hear that. Honestly. :) I think it speaks well of the closeness of our group.

I'm gonna try to come to the Nov 3 meeting at JC, unless mom has other plans (eg: buying furniture, egads). I won't be able to make the kickoff meeting because I have work the next day, though.

LOL, I always thought there were more people from WR than Macon, Richard!

The Denny's in Byron has Wifi and is open 24 hours ... the only problem is there are only two outlets. I normally have an extension cord or a power strip with me when I go to give greater length. I don't know what kind of outlets they have in their party room, though.

So, it is a public restaurant (at midnight) ...

*pokes preggo brain*

So Heather didn't quite get what I had suggested - rather than dividing up the write-ins, I meant to describe more of a doubling up. For example:

Nov 3 - 2 pm Write-In @ Macon, 7 pm Write-In @ WR
Nov 10 - 2 pm Write-In @ WR, 7 pm Write-In @ Macon
Nov 17 - 2 pm Write-In @ Macon, 7 pm Write-In @ WR
Nov 24 - 2 pm Write-In @ WR, 7 pm Write-In @ Macon

Alternating times for the two locations would allow for those who can't make either afternoon or evening write-ins, and the two locations would allow for those who can't manage the travelling. And for those who really thrive on the whole pulsating creative group brain thing, you can have twice as many! I really wasn't suggesting that we break up, really really! I like all of you crazy creative folks!

Hopefully I'll be rid of my migraine by tomorrow night in time to go to the write-in (it's been bugging me for the past two days >_<) So I was wondering, did we actually decide where we were meeting tomorrow night? I was thinking Stake and Shake on Tom Hill Sr. in Macon(This is where Shane and I will be tomorrow night at midnight by the way.)

There's no way I can make the Wednesday write-in, with it being a work night and all, but I would loooove to make the Saturday one at Joshua Cup. I believe I have an extra powerstrip lying around (will have to check in the AM!) that I can bring to write-ins too :)

Neither Mitchell nor I will be able to make the write in tonight since he works and it's an hour drive for us. We are however, looking forward to the one on Saturday, unless my daughter works and then someone will have to be her chauffeur.

In any case, good luck to everyone tonight and may your imaginations fly, causing your word counts to soar up and beyond!

hey guys! It's almost here and i have jitters and am bouncy and i haven't even had my extra coffee! so, here's the thing...i won't be there tonight. :-(. But, i was lucky enough to score a dental appointment tomorrow morning! Yes, this is lucky...I have permission to be late for work...like a few hours late. Soooo, I'll set my alarm for dawn-thirty, tip-toe into my office, hit the power button on my compie and start typing away.

That's my plan and i WILL stick to it. :-)

Happy wording to the Midnighters!!! Eat some pizza for me.

See those of you who are making the Saturday meeting

Can I blame it on my preggo brain, Danie? I've been walking around in a fog.

As it stands, we'll be holding the Midnight Madness gettogether at the Steak N Shake on Tom Hill Sr Blvd. I'm not certain that I'll be able to make it, as it will depend on how Nathan is feeling about me leaving tonight, and I haven't decided if I'm wanting to pen it. I do want to come; but I won't know until the last minute.

I'll send out a regional email. :)

I still plan on being at the Steak and Shake around 10:30 PM, to give myself time to eat and enjoy my last few moments of freedom. Hope to see a few of you there. :)

Sadly, can't make the meeting tonight, have to give out candy to the kids!
