You may have read this on other boards, but I thought I'd post it here. These are some tricksI learned in 2005 (my one and only nano adventure so far).
If you want to delete something, turn the text white so you can't see it, but the counter in Word will still count it. Or if you want to see what you've deleted, turn the text some other color than black.
Consider not using contractions. We speak in contractions, but for every contraction you use, you lose another word.
Put in Chapter headings. Those still get counted.
Any others you can think of?
