Hello, fellow WriMos!

Your MLs, majkia and I, have decided to host two official Write-Ins this November. You may be wondering what a Write-In is. Simple. All of you in the area that want to come bring laptops, notebooks, etc. to a meeting place. From there, we sit and write for a specified amount of time. It's a fun way to work on your NaNoNovel with a group of people doing the exact same thing.

The first write has been scheduled!

Where: Barnes and Noble, Airport Blvd., Pensacola
When: Saturday, November 10th
Time: 2 - 4 pm

We'll be meeting in the cafe.

I will be in the Pensacola area visiting my folks over thanksgiving, and I'm wondering if anybody would like to do a write-in that Friday or Saturday somewhere? I anticipate needing to get out in order to get any writing done, and I figured there might be others out there that have that same thought...

Hi Wendy! :)

I'm down with meeting up somewhere in the area around Thanksgiving-ish. I'm guessing it shouldn't be Barnes And Noble due to Black Friday and it would be a complete madhouse. Though it could work in a pinch. I just reccomend somewhere with access to internet and a power outlets (as my laptop only has an hour battery). What about Panera Bread at Cordova Mall? Or my personal happy place the Drowsy Poet coffee shop by PCC or even Bad Ass Coffee by PJC? :) I'd figure Starbucks would be mad crowded!

Good luck with your NaNo! :)

Hi Megs,
I like coffee, and I'm always up for checking out new places in the area. How about you choose one of those coffee shops and let me know where it is? I'm a good navigator, but I didn't grow up around there, so I need a little direction!

Hey again Wendy! :)

I think I'd rather go with Drowsy Poet since I'm unsure if Bad Ass has wifi and is geared to the younger college crowd meaning loud music and blaring TVs which could be distracting. Plus their coffee has been a little on the iffy side last I was there.

Drowsy Poet is just off Michigan where it turns into Brent Lane (I think it's Brent I've lived in P'cola for 20 years and can still never remember all the names it changes. *laughs*) But you know the street that runs right in front of the Pensacola Chirstian College? I'd suggest googling that and you'll see what I mean. :) I know the street behind the college is Airport. Anyway Drowsy poet is on a little side road on the side of the road PCC is (left if coming from Michigan on the right if coming from Bayou/Cordova Mall), if you're coming from the Michigan end it's just after the intersection and the little side street is just before were the overpass begins and Drowsy Poet and a gym are immediately on your right tucked next to the overpass. :)

I know I give totally cracktastic directions. I'm an artist by nature. *laughs* I hope it was somewhat clear! :)

Any plans for another write-in? The more notice I have, the more likely I can attend. Though if I have to, I'm pretty sure I'm feeling quite ill and won't be able to go in to work. XD Anywhere in Niceville/Ft. Walton/Destin would be awesome, but I can swing Pensacola in an absolute pinch.

I'd like to have one in the FWB area on the 17th, Kaema. Around 2ish in the afternoon. I haven't settled on a place yet.

Heyhey everyone! My plane just got in last night and I'm finally in Pensacola, Land of No Palm Trees and Wal-Marts On Every Corner!

For those of you still interested in a Write-In after Turkey Day -- Possibly Black Friday or the following Saturday in the Pensacola area, plans are still on for the Drowsy Poet Coffee House but I'd like to see whomever's interested about a time. :) Let me know! :)

I may be woefully under word count but I'm going to give it my best shot! :D Art School has a way of sucking up all of one's time. D:

Megs,
Which place and when would be good for you (and anybody else who's interested in writing tomorrow)? Can you give me an idea of where the cafe is, so I can map it?
Thanks!

Disregard my last post -- it sounds like Friday, November 23 at the Drowsy Poet. What time works for folks? I'm open to whenever!

Heya Wendy!

How about 2:30/3-ish till whenever? I'm guessing only write-ins are only supposed to last a couple of hours but you KNOW there's like at least 30 minutes of getting settled, 30 more minutes of meets and greets and feeling the energy in the room and getting caffeination and THEN working. And if it's alright with you I'd like to get some honest productivity out of this even if I'm going to go right back and edit the heck out of it later. *laughs*

I say midafternoon so people that want to join can get their shopping needs out, take a nap, and traffic won't be as completely rediculous, as well as I have a long night ahead of me with some Art School Stuff (TM) I need to take care of. Vacation? What? You're funny. LOLZ.

In any event I'll try to get to the Drowsy Poet early myself as it's not too terribly far from me so I can do the whole commandeering an electrical outlet for my laptop and possibly putting up some sort of obvious thing it's for NaNo. All I can think of is look for the girl with the long white blond bangs and spiky brown hair. That would be me and my Art Student Head. XD If you want to trade numbers shoot me a mail at westbaylen @ gmail . com and I can pass it along. :>

Sweet. I'll try to get there around 2:30, too. See you then!
