Hello all you N-AL Wrimos!
Bryan and I are so excited to be your co-MLs again. It's been a rough go for us in October as we get through salt mning + influenza for me, but we're catching up and I plan to be healthy again soon. For those of you who have requested this information, here are the write-ins currently planned. I hope to get them on the Events list today as well (excuse my slowness; I'm an untried navigator of these nice new pages):
Tuesday Write-ins
Each Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM at Atlanta Bread Co. ("ABC"), University Drive in the very front of the Target Shopping center. We also like to go early and have a quick dinner (optional) at 5:30 PM. ABC features FREE wi-fi and lots of coffee, other non-alcoholic beverages, sandwiches, soups, and bakery goodies. Mark your calendars for Nov. 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2007.
Saturday Write-ins (2nd and 4th Sat. only)
2nd Sat. from Noon to 2 PM, Barnes & Noble, University Drive (with the huntsvillewriters@yahoo.com groupies). That's Nov. 10, folks!
4th Sat. from Noon to 2 PM, Barnes & Noble, Bailey Cove Rd. (at the North end of the Target shopping center, behind Chili's). Calendar this one for Nov. 24.
(We had planned to be out of town for the first Sat. write-in, but we don't know if we're leaving now or not. If someone wants to lead the charge that day, let us know as we still may be weekend-tripping to points Northerly.)
Last Chance Write-In (Nov. 30)
Just for kicks and word count, we're scheduling a last chance write-in on November 30 from 6 to 9 PM at ABC (Atlanta Bread Co.), University Drive, Huntsville, AL, in the very front of the Target Shopping center. As always, we plan to go early and have a quick dinner (optional) at 5:30 PM. If we want to stick it out until Midnight for those last encrypted 50-K submissions, we can retire when ABC closes to the the all-night-open Krystal just East of Madison Sq. Mall, also on University Dr., Huntsville, AL. Incredibly, the Krystal folks also have free wi-fi and all the square, onion-laden hamburgers you can eat!
Go forth and do those plot summaries, character sketches, and what not, but hold those words for November 1,
All the best,
Redd Herring

I just learned from a left coast Wrimo friend that the Portland area is doing there first write-in at 12 AM on November 1. That's right after the Halloween witching hour, folks!
Is anyone interested in meeting Bryan and I at the Denny's, University Dr., Huntsville, AL, to really kick-start your Wrimo efforts? All other craziness barred, we will be there at 12 AM on November 1.
Poise your hands in keyboard-vulture-looming stance,

Wow. No thanks. But I'll happily dream of the rest of you furiously pounding the keyboards...

Oh, no thanks on the 12:01 a.m. start. After the daughter waking me up at 2 a.m. this morning, I'm sleeping all the way until the alarm tomorrow baring another screaming wakeup call from the daughter. (She gets night terrors with growth spurts.)
I'm hoping to make one of the Saturday write-ins, but it depends on the hubby's grading/soccer conditioning/tryouts schedule and child care options. Anyone else crazy enough to try this with a toddler in tow?

Mine are almost 6 and almost 3. Right there with ya. And husband writing too. We don't have the soccer though.

hubby's said we MIGHT be able to make the midnight kick-off. He has to get up a lot earlier than I do, so it's up to him. What time will we all start gathering?

Greetings,
Well it looks like now that we are going out of town. So this means we will not be at Denny's tonight. We didn't find this out till this morning. Sorry about that, but if anyone still wants to go, please do. Let us all know how it goes.

Hello all,
Sorry we've been out of the picture so much. We did greet Ginny / Ersinia at B&N on Sat. for at least part of the write-in, but had to leave early for a friend's wedding.
Also, we had planned a business trip on Mon.-Tues. to return in time for the Tues. PM write-in, but we've been asked to stay another day. Please, WRITE ON without us! As you can tell, all this distraction is killing my word count, but I'm not giving up. I've got a good idea, and with Ginny's commiseration from Sat., I now have some sense of direction. YEA US!!
We will be back on Wed. evening some time and I'll work on that word count and look forward to making the next weekday write-in, somehow, someway.
All the best,
Amy

Crap! With the work on our car taking twice as long as they said it would, I completely forgot there was a Saturday write in. The Tuesday ones aren't so great with Hubby home alone with the baby at her bedtime. And we will be out of town the fourth Saturday, I think.
I really hope to make the Nov. 30th one. I'm going to need it. Real life hit, and I'm about 14,000 words behind.

No worries, TL -- I have faith in you. Besides, this year, I'm making you all look good with my snail-like progress. We'll miss you at the Sat. write-in, but perhaps another time?
