I know there are at least two of us in Yokohama who are Nano'ing right now, and I have a hard time believing out of the enormous foreign population of this general area, we're the only ones! If you're in the general Tokyo/Yokohama/Kanagawa-ken area and are interested in meeting up, let's plan something. There are so many cute writing-friendly cafes in Tokyo that it seems a waste to not take advantage of the potential inspiration. Any takers?

Am in western Tokyo right near Tachikawa station; there are plenty of nice cafes in my college-town suburb if anyone is interested. Would be willing to go somewhere else if there is greenery and not just coffee & tea in the vicinity--yes, I am a little too country-spoiled for this mondo metropolis.
Best times for meeting: Saturday mornings or Thursday afternoons. If there are at least two other people interested, I will post and show up for a time in or around my residential area (weekend of the 10th excluded due to Ishiyama write-in).

I'll probably be too busy on weekends to make it until later in November, but I thought I'd suggest a common Anglophone writers' hang out in Takadanobaba: Ben's Cafe. I've been there dozens of times with other writers, and I imagine they'd be quite comfortable with a write-in.

How about this? Anyone who's interested can come out to Kunitachi station (you'll need to be on the Chuo rapid line, and it's between Kokubunji & Tachikawa on the western side of Tokyo) this Saturday between 9 and noon. Take the south exit, then turn left just outside the ticket gates. Walk around the road circle and stay on the left side; you'll run into Starbucks very soon.
I will snag a place inside there with my laptop, and the sign will be a big Southeast-Asian style woven hat sitting next to me. If for some reason the place is full or they don't have power outlets, I will wait outside with the hat for fifteen minutes and we can hunt for a better spot together.
Hope you can come and look forward to finally catching up, together.
