Well i decided i would try my hands at a humourous story for the first time. I've done stand-up comedy for years (and I'm not too bad, according to people who hear me) and I've written Sci-fi and fantasy for years, but I'm stepping a little into the unknown here.
What would you guys say is arough guidline for how often you need a laugh/ joke in a humourous story?
The first 1.5k i've written has about 5 laugh out loud moments but i really doubt i can keep up that pace without it getting too bad. I'm already groaning at some of the stuff I put in but considering its a parody of sorts I can;t see why I shouldn't put them in.
So what do you guys think?
