I can barely type my words in english nevermind start them in Spanish.

Wondered if there were any other writers in Spain writing their novel in english?

Here, here! *waves hand frantically* I think I'm doing it because this way I can blame the crappiness of the novel on english not being my mother tongue :))

I'm going to write it in English too. For the same reason mentioned above xDDDDDD And because sometimes it's easier for me to write in English rather than in Spanish somehow.

Good luck!

I'm writing in English too!! :D This way, I'm not so aware of how many mistakes I make, which are probably a lot. An also, it's good practice.

I'm Spanish, and writing in English as well. It seems to fit my style much better than Spanish does -- and it flows so well! I actually write most of my stuff in English: short stories, poetry, journals. So why should my NaNo novel be any different? Especially considering that I find writing in English much easier than writing in Spanish, which definitely helps with the word count.

me me me!!

I write and read every day in english. Sometimes I even feel weird reading something in spanish xD actually is not due to the mistakes, I just think when I write in spanish it looks cheesy and I'm not even writing a romance....

Besides, I'm writing fanfiction and I will post it once I'm done. It's crazier to translate a whole novel.

I had a hard time choosing what language to write in but finally decided to write in Spanish because of the reasons mentioned above.

My writing in Spanish is becoming crappier and crappier. I read more books in English. I think more in English. I often flow more in English

And yet I don't want to lose the connection with my mother tongue.

So I'm forcing myself to write in Spanish to get the flow back.
And here's the best news...it's working! :D

I'm American living in Spain, but I didn't want to hurt my poor brain too badly writing in Spanish. I'm barely squeaking out English words. But congrats to those challenging themselves to write in a language other than their native language!

Congrats to all of you writing in English, even if it's your native language is English: Nanowrimo is not about being easy for anyone, you know... :-)

However, if you'll allow me, I'll disagree a little bit with you: the international language is esperanto, not English. Not to start a flame war, but, well, I am concentrating in writing the stupid novel! Then I'll work to make it good enough (cough, cough) so it gets translated to the other languages (which is a lot of work in itself!): inassomuch international English may be, how many people in Spain could read a novel in English? yup, not exactly *that* international... then you have to consider that the 'international language' in some places of the world is russian, or turkish, or zulu, ... not really in my league, although they are fascinanting...

anyway, keep it up, ¡arriba! as we say in here

cheers!

ps- i wrote barely 200 words yesterday, i'm getting depressed after a good-good pace... grrr...
