Hi all,
Last night, I was at Borders on SR Ave at 7PM as posted and I had one other author join me, I believe her name is Anna. She and I decided that Wednesday nights a 7PM are good for both of us, so we'll be there!

Hi Liz. I'm sorry I missed the write in last night. I took an intended hour nap and woke up at 10:30 instead of 6:30!
Unfortunately, my regular shift for the crisis line is from 9 PM to 6 AM every Wednesday night. I can try to make it for an hour or so but I don't know how it will work as I have to be home by 1/4 of 9 to check in with the service prior to starting my shift.
But I will try.
I'm thinking of a morning write-in some place in Santa Rosa. Maybe it will even be at Borders. I will post what I come up with.
Anyone have specific days/hours that work for them? Let me know!

I'll go to Borders (SR Ave.) on Wed. night.
I'm also available mornings. Am willing to also find a cafe, etc. in Healdsburg, Cloverdale or Ukiah for coffee/writing.

Hi,
I think I just might be the elder stateswomen here, and having fun. I signed up last year--then broke my shoulder in late october and my doc ruled out typing. Bummer. But here it is another year and another opportunity. ; )
I don't have a laptop so I won't be able to write-in with y'all, but I'm gonna try to stop by at Borders just to say hi and cheerlead for a minute or two.
Peace & cheer,
Margot

Robin, please let me know if you find a place in Cloverdale for write ins. I am also available most mornings and am willing to come to you. I am in Santa Rosa but can drive any place between here and Cloverdale. I don't think I'd go any further than that. Maybe you can find something someplace in between us. I don't know the area well but I'm willing to give it a try.
Let me know.

There's a little place next to the P.O. in Cloverdale called Grapes & Grounds. It's on the back (east) side of Cloverdale's little plaza downtown-& directly across the street from the Fire Dept & the Police Dept. They have comfy chairs, couches, etc. I don't know if it'll be too noisy though. I'd be willing to try it out, say Mon. at 10 a.m. If no one else can make that, I'll at least try it out for noise level on my own.
The book store in Clov might work too, but I'd have to ask Suzy how she feels about coffee, etc, in her reading area in the back. (I think she's closed on Mondays.)
In Healdsburg the Costeaux's French Bakery might work. I'll ask our son's girlfriend about it. She usually works there in the summer when she's home from college.

Hi Liz, Thanks for posting this for others to come on Wednesday evenings. By the way, my name is Anasuya. It was a true delight to meet and talk with you. I look forward to meeting others who may join us. Could you send me your e-mail address? I'd love it if I could add you to my writing buddy list. Blessings to all of us! Anasuya

I might try to make a Wednesday Night Borders meeting, but not this week. I like their cafe (I was there shopping with my son on Sunday and thought it was a good spot) and they don't seem to mind folks buying a latte and taking up space for an hour or more.
I live in Cloverdale too and Grapes & Grounds probably isn't too noisy and their coffee is excellent. A weekend morning is probably the only time I would be kid free and also not feel compelled to go into the office. Honestly, Cloverdale is a looooong way for people to drive who don't already have business up here. Costeaux in Healdsburg (while having a great staff- they made my wedding cake!) isn't really the kind of place I would feel comfortable taking up a table, they get busy and there set up isn't really for lounging. If you guys try either place let me know how it works.

Amphora (& any one else interested,)
I did try out Grapes & Grounds this a.m. on my own. The noise level was fine. I guess I worried, 'cuz noise at home sure drives the writing bug out of me in a hurry, but there at the cafe I could ignore the noise since I didn't have to direcly deal with it. I can go there to Grapes & Grounds most any day, & any time. (I quit my job so I can write!!)
The main reason I suggested Cloverdale or Healdsburg, was thought we might be able to meet up with NaNo folks out of Mendocino County too. Novato is a bit far for me, but I could possibly make Petaluma once or twice during the month.
I may try to find something in Healdsburg on Thurs. in the late afternoon, since I have class there that night. (Trying to save gas where possible.) Thanks for the info on Costeaux's. Hadn't had a chance to ask Kristin about it before she headed back to UC.
Can definitely go to Borders on Wed. night.

Another Nanoer suggested Palette Art Cafe in Healdsburg. I think we're meeting there this week. Anyone know anything pertinent about it? In relation to write-ins, that is.

I don't have a laptop, and I probably won't be able to go.
However, I am going to be there at my PC, cup of decaf in hand, and sharing writing space with you "in spirit".
Glad you're getting this together, great!!
I'd still love to bring notebook/pen to somewhere easily walkable to in downtown, Sundays, afternoon.
Anybody interested?

Coffeedrinkingwriter...
We'll get something going for you for Sunday afternoons. What time is good for you? Let me know and I will see if I can get something easy for you to get to or if you are willing, I can pick you up and take you to the location. How far are you thinking as being easily walkable?

Depending on the weather, I can do 7-10 blocks, like downtown to RR Square or something similar. I walk around 5-6 blocks nearly everyday.
Probably 2p-430p would be good for me Sundays.
Thanks for thinking of me!
Tomorrow is a long day, also, so I'll keep the commitment at home to participate on my PC here.

I liked being up and about, writing at 720ish to 9ishp. Seems a pretty good time to do some writing for me.
Did around 1700 words.
How was the write in?

I went tonight... it was fun! And so much easier to get my 1,666 words than I had anticipated.
