I had a slow morning at work today, so I did a little poking around to see how everyone was progressing with one day under their belts... and I have to say I'm impressed!
I totalled up the word counts for people who have either posted in the regional lounge or sent in their contact information. In a little more than 24 hours, Team Cincinnati has knocked out over 69,000 words! Several people have exceeded their daily quota; one Wrimo had already reached the 6000 word mark! Now that's how to start a November!
You guys, I'm blown away by how much you all rock. Your enthusiasm is infectious and inspiring! (And given the crappy exposition I'm currently slogging through, I need all the inspiration I can get....)
For those of you who are rapidly racking up those numbers, keep up the good work! And for those of you who might be staring at a blank screen cursing under your breath as you search for that perfect first line, you can do this. Just jump in, start writing, and don't look back. All words are good words. You can edit after the month is over.
I'll be sending out a email later tonight to those of you who asked to be included on the contact list, brimming full of events and encouragement, but I just wanted to take a moment and give everyone a well-deserved pat on the back! Whooooo hooooo!
And now, back to my novel....
