Corina is driving from Santa Rosa and can take a couple of people. I need to leave there by 8:30 so it will only be about an hour and a half but that should get us some time. Of course, if you ride over with me you don't have to ride back when I do.
This is an art cafe. They serve light food selections, wine, and other beverages. We're not sure how it will work out but we're giving it a try.
I believe CatWalker is also coming. Anyone else?

Are there now two write ins at basically the same time?
I was all set to go to Borders in SR tonight--bumming a ride from my son who has class at the JC tonight.
Now it seems there's one in Healdsburg about the same time.
I'd love to go to both, but ????
Will it be in Hbg. each week on Wed. night? I could go to each on alternating weeks. Would like to meet as many fellow NaNo folks as possible.
I'm willing to drive from Cloverdale to Petaluma for Sat. a.m.'s, but may not be able to make this Sat.
Any one willing to drive to Clov on Sunday?

I have to say, I'm not up to speed on what "threads" are, so if my postings here become redundant, I hope you'll forgive me. I just want to make sure that the information gets out to anyone who might want it.
RE: The Borders Santa Rosa write-in. I understood the write-in at Borders, Santa Rosa was from 7-9. That's when I plan on being there, as 8-10 is too late for my work schedule. Actually, I'll probably get there as early as six in case anyone wants to join me that early.
CORRECTION RE: The write-ins at PEETS COFFEE, Petaluma. The write-ins begin THIS Saturday -- NOVEMBER 10. Then, they continue for 11/17 and 11/24 See below.
This write-in will be at the NEW Peets Coffee in the Washington Square Shopping Center, corner of McDowell Blvd and Washington Street. Easy access from the freeway, north or south. Peets is to the left of the Safeway, across from Wamu Bank. I checked with them today about bringing extension cords or power strips, as they only have two outlets. They said OK. This Peets is huge, lots of space and tables....you could use the center of it as a dance floor. I'll be there this Saturday wearing my NaNo t-shirt and drinking lots and lots of tea! They also have great coffee and pastries. Hope to see some of you there.

I'm with you, Debbie. The new electronics/computer lingo, etc. is light speed beyond what I know. (My husband one accused me of "only being good with people and animals"--to which I replied "Thank you!" 'Cuz it's true!!!)
I'll be at Borders tonight. Probably around 7. My son's class starts at 7 at the JC, so I'm hitching a ride with him. If I can talk him into going sooner, I'll be there earlier.
I WILL try to make it to Petaluma @ Peet's at least once, but since I'm coming from Cloverdale, I'll be losing a lot of writing time driving, not to mention the fuel for the car. But I do want to meet fellow NaNo's.

This was wonderful. I met Catwalker and her daughter who are both first time NaNoWriMos!
The Palette is really great for us. I plan on hosting more write-ins here. The place was quiet, homey, easy to get to, plenty of free parking, cheap coffee ($1.40), a friendly clientele and very nice wait staff. There is an outdoor area too.
They open early (for breakfast) and remain open until 11 PM on weeknights. Thursdays they have jazz music and it gets noisy so I would not recommend going for there for a write-in on Thursdays, although it would be a neat place to go for just a meet up.

Robin, my feeling is that if people need a write-in in more than one place on the same day and at the same time, then we can do that. I did have a request from a number of people to find a place north of Santa Rosa.
The Healdsburg location was a real treat and I will plan others there. I will look at having it on a night other than Wednesday so that people can come to both if they can and so desire. As ML I will try to attend as many as possible so different nights is key!

Thanks for setting that up. I was just momentarily distracted 'cuz I wanted to go to both! (I went to SR as I already had a ride set up with my son.)
It's my personal goal this year to make it to more of the write ins this year & meet more of the people involved instead of staying flopped out in my comfy chair at home. (Oh, the solitary life of writing.)
It sounds like what you found at the Art Cafe in Hbg is great. I look forward to going there another day.
We can also work at Cover to Cover Books in Cloverdale, but it has to be when Suzy has the store open. (Tues thru Sat.)
I'm thinking of planning one for Sun a..m. at Grapes and Grounds in Clov. Haven't decided for sure yet. Then we could go to SR for a possible one near downtown for "CoffeeDrinker" in the afternoon???
