Hi All,
I've been watching the messages about write-ins in the Sonoma-Marin area, but see none from the Napa Valley. Come on, I know there must be NaNo-ers out there from this part of the world! I don't use a laptop, so would be limited as far as write-ins are concerned, but would be interested in getting to know other writers in this area, and maybe even form or join a writers' group.

I don't see many posts here about what we are working on. I am writing my second novel in the fantasy genre - or more aptly, "fanciful." This one is about a woman who, wanting to find out who she is, is whisked off to another world where she meets a bear. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but am seriously thinking that the next effort should be about humans!

Hi Susan,

Sounds like your story will be a fun one to write! Perfect for NaNo! I agree there must be quite a few Napa writers out there... but how to find them??? ... Hmmm. In previous years there was a way to search the list of participants according to what town someone lived in or what authors or music they liked, etc.

You might try searching the other forums... like California: elsewhere? Or inland? I don't know... In the meantime you could come to Marin/Sonoma and write with us :-)

I like your idea of having a thread where we tell everyone what our novels are about. Let's start one!

With the Author Search back in operation, you should be able to find some writers in your area. I just put in Napa as the location and got nine writers, none of which is you, Susan. So there are more than you out there. I didn't use Napa Valley or any other derivative, just plain old "napa". You can play with it and find some more near you.

Many thanks, Corina. I have been meaning to do just that, but have gotten myself bogged down with the story line and am trying to hack (bad word) my way out of the thickets. I'll check them out.
