In an effort to have the LA boards not be so dead (veganfred, this is for you!) what's the funniest/weirdest thing in your novel so far?

Mine:
Unintentionally: Time traveling characters. I didn't notice this until I went back and read it but.. in the middle of the afternoon, my MMC knocks on my FMC's door, to ask her if she wanted to talk. So they walk out into the brisk morning air and they've walked maybe two blocks when they stop to have an intense conversation - in the twilight gloom! What?!

Intentionally: Ugh, I've written a lot of questionable stuff this Nov. (see my novel excerpt for examples) but the most hilarious thing has to be this camping scene where one everyone gets to the campsite and the bear box is hideously dirty so one of the characters wants to store the food in his car and while some characters try to convince him this is a BAD IDEA, other campers want to build a fire so bright it will be seen from space, one guy keeps talking about his uncle who lives in a trailer park and then two more people run through the camp after being attacked by a wild turkey. I loved writing this scene.

Anyone else want to share?

My favorite so far:

I have fun (and long) chapter titles that sort of give me a picture of where I want to go.. and add to the word count. Here are my favorites so far.

Chapter 3 (In Which Adeo Gets Chewed Out For Not Bringing Home the Fiancé on the First Date)
Chapter 6 (In Which Betsy Ponders the Benefits of Being a Child Bride)
Chapter 9 (In Which the Prince Who Couldn’t, Does)
Chapter 11 (In Which Betsy Lies About the Family Jewels)
Chapter 15 (In Which Al Becomes a Drug Loving Communist Hippie)

Each chapter is an adventure that ends with the 14 year old hero saving the same damsel. In chapter 5 he dispatches the cannibals who are going to cook her, then sets her free. She tells him her father was eaten two weeks ago, then they had leftovers for a week, then her mother was eaten. Then she says it's a good thing he got there today instead of tomorrow. He agrees with her because he hates leftovers.

The exploding chickens. I changed my whole excerpt because of the exploding chickens (they don't really explode, don't worry). I have this small child who does devilish things. He's my randomness generator. Then I have this other guy who, when he drinks, turns into my word count savior.

As soon as he gets out of jail I'm going to have to schedule another drinking scene.
