I really am wondering, but I do have a passion for it. I have written one other years ago and submitted to Harlequin ( yes I did) they said they liked it but I needed to lengthen the chapters. It has taken me this long..19 days to get this little bit done..it is in my head, just have to get it on paper

You can't be a writer if you don't write. Pick up the pen, sit down at the keyboard, and put words to paper. Don't worry about whether it's good, don't edit it; just get it down before it gets lost.
You go, grrl!

Just jump in and do it. Go through some of the word wars, prompts, take a line areas in the forums and just jump in. I had over 10k words for satire and ditched it all and started over. I won't win, but I'll be happier with what I am doing.

you know it's true that you have to get somthing down, even if it's ten words.
writers are always those spouting fountains of words twenty four seven. there are dry times (writers block) or even times when it like pullling teeth to get a few paragraphs or a scene out. we all go thru that.
you said that you got the ideas but just can't get it to paper or computer. how about trying to tape record it. you just say the story and then later transcribe it. that way you get it down and you can play with it later to clearify or expand on it.

NaNo Write is a challenge for writers but it doesn't define us as writers or failed writers.
It's a slightly insane thing we do for fun but that's about it.
If you want to be a writer you just have to sit down and write. Some days will go better than others.
I've gone weeks without writing a word, and other days I spend hours at the computer.
It took me almost a full year after my book was published to complete another story and I've got more abandoned plots than I do finished stories.
You can only fail as a writer if you give up. So, keep trying if it makes you happy.

You have to be in love with the thought of sitting at a desk for hours at a time and typing.
that's the process of writing.
a lot of people are in love with teh idea of writing, but they don't love the process.
gotta love the process.
And if you don't, well, you've learned something about yourself. You can either drop the goal or find alternate ways to achieve the goal.
your choice.
