This one is relatively simple:
How long would it take to drive from Nashville, TN to somewhere in Smoky Hills, Kansas? (And would you be passing any special or interesting sights on the way?)
Thanks a lot for your help!

You'd go through both St Louis and Kansas City to get into Kansas. You'd also end up going through Topeka, which is the capital of KS...
St. Louis, MO has that huge arch and a number of other things.
Kansas City, MO has a brand new WWI museum - which is amazing, from what I've seen, and absolutely on my list of places to go before I die
I don't know where Smoky Hills, KS is... The Smoky Hill River joins the Republican River at a place called Junction City.. From Nashville to Junction City is about 10 1/2 hrs.
There's a historic site in topeka for brown vs the board of education, a supreme court case that ended segregation in public schools. I'm sure there's a way to make your nano people stop there... (theres a bunch of other stuff, too.... )

Thanks for the reply and the links and everything :)
I found the name Smoky Hills just by looking at a map... So I don't really know where it is, except it looks to be some sort of mountain area in KS.
How long would the drive take, if you were going from Nashville to somewhere in the middle of KS, you think?

Not a whole lot of mountains in Kansas that I am aware of. Just for kicks, I looked on wikepedia and found this place which is apparently the tallest mountain in the state. Mount Sunflower. Technically, I don't think it's a mountain.

I've driven from Nashville to Denver, west of kansas, several times but I can't remember exactly how long it took me. I think a couple days worth of driving. At least 10 or 15 hours? Once I drove from L.A. to Nashville and it took me exactly 26 hours.
Hope that helps.

It's a fairly long drive. I would call it a very full day on the road.
That part of the U.S. is really more or less flat. The hills are low and rolling, not like mountains. If that is what you were after, you will have to go much farther west, into Colorado or Wyoming for instance. Or east along the Tennessee/North Carolina border (the Smoky Mountains) and northeast from there.

I remember it because I was a geology major before I decided to go into computers, and it is one of those places I studied for some reason..
It is 11 hours or about 760 miles (1266 km) to Rock City KS from Nashville, and I think that is near the center of the Smoky Hills region right near Minneapolis, KS (who knew there was a Minneapolis in Kansas, too.)and just past Ft. Riley, KS where I was once a soldier.
