I heard on KOB that the fires there are zero percent contained and some of the residents are evacuating their homes.

I do hope all Moutainair wrimos are safe and comfy at their homes noveling away. If not, I hope you and your families are someplace safe and warm and that you are able to return to your homes soon.

Thanks for asking and worrying about us.

5% contained as of last update - not much but better than zero. Changes in the weather are helping too - wind shifting and humidity on rise, possibility of snow. Something like eighty residences evacuated - all off NM 55 of Mountainair. Game Road, Forest Road 131, Kayser Mill Road, La Cienega Road, Manzano State Park, and the communities of Punta de Agua and Manzano. Mountainair itself is safe - evacuation (to high school) and staging area with out of town firefighters being put up at the community center & campgrounds. The town is serving Thanksgiving dinner to firemen and evacuees not staying with family. Actual losses, not high but I know two of those who did lose homes.

I'm glad to hear from you, Vcrary. Hopefully, Nature and the firefighters will get things under control soon. I'm glad you're safe.

Hey there! I'm doing pretty good. Not so great on the word count, but pretty happy with the story. Missing the heck out of the weather there, and getting together down at the coffee shops for write-ins and chats with everybody!

Go New Mexico! :>

I relate. I'm behind on my wordcount also. But I do like the way my novel is coming together. I've decided to do nanofimo next month whether I win this month or not. I want to finish so I can do nanoedmo in March then maybe, maybe pitch at the conference in April.

Mountainair - how is everybody doing now that you've got some snow?
