What software is everyone using to craft their masterpieces? I'm just curious - are we a primarily Word-driven region, or are some of us still using NotePad or Works, or is there anyone else in the greater Macon/WR area with a Mac using one of their awesome word-processors?
I personally use Avenir, a mac only program that is designed for fiction writing - it acts as a database of chapters and characters and scenes and locations and research as well as a fully functional word processor and I lurve it more than almost anything ever.
How about y'all?

I use RoughDraft, which you can get free online. :) It's geared towards writers and has a built in side panel that you can use as a virtual notepad to take notes about what you're working on (it saves it as a separate .txt file, which is handy). The best part about it, to me, is that it is a very small program and takes up virtually no room/memory on the computer.

Last year I used RoughDraft. I really like that program; you can't beat the size... it fits on a 3.5 floppy!
This year I'm using Open Office.org. Completely free, does pretty much everything else Word does, only without the price tag or vulnerabilities.
I managed to get a copy of Liquid Story binder for free, which looks really cool, but I didn't wnt to fool with learning a new program during NaNo. It looks really nice, with dossiers, files worldbuilding tools... I like it.

I use whatever happens to be handy. Any hardcore door-closed writing sessions happen in MS Word, because that's what my room comp has; word wars tend to go down in WordPad, to be copied into OpenOffice for wordcounting purposes.

I use Word. It's what's on the computer and what most agents/publishers expect documents to be in.
But, some of yours sound really nice especially the Mac one.

I'm using MS Word 2003. I've always used it and have been happy with it. Now if I could just find a way to plug it into my brain and have it write all the great phrases, chapters, characters, etc., down automatically!
Need caffiene!

I use MS Word. Mostly because it's on every computer i touch. However, i am very interested in Vi's program, and after this novel - which barely resembles one by the way - is finished, or when i get my 50K word count, which ever comes first, I'll check into to it, since it's free and all.

I use word perfect. Word is for work, word perfect is for play ... and has been for ... well, more years than I have on my fingers and toes ... okay, I can't count. My fingers and one foot. Well, maybe most of both feet. Anyway. I still use the keyboard commands to do most of what I want, if that says anything :p ...
