Heys, people. I got a problem with my story that shouldn't be this huge, but that has made me go totally, completely stuck. It's a scene where one of my MC's is inside an unknown, laboratory-hospital-sort of building, and is trying to get out of there, while she is being chased by the people who brought her there. What she really needs is a place to hide to try and work things out, but, well... where does she hide?
I thought of the ventilation shaft, but it's too much of a cliche, and I can't seem to think of anything else.
Thing is, since she is an angel - basically a human species, except for with wings - she isn't the easiest to find a good spot for...
Any ideas?

hmm... well, there's always the chapel. She could get a little zinc oxide on her face and pretend to be a holy statue...heh.
Or hang out in the waiting room of the mental illness ward? Probably look like she fit right in there.
Gargoyle, perhaps? On a ledge?
Maybe she could be the 'invisble friend' of someone in the children's ward. Kids love keeping secrets like that.
Ramble (who's up too late again after the 4a.m. Friday frenzy...)

Well, yes, any of those ideas might work :) Maybe the one where she hides among the gargoyles will be a little bit easy to detect, though :P forgot to mention that most her pursuers are angels as well, so they'll probably look in those places first =)
Thanks for the suggestions, I'm thinking of using the chapel, that's a great idea... now I can finally get a move on with the story :D

Why not looking for a common place...like the hospital laundry. If it is a Sunday or a holiday, maybe there aren`t too many people working and she might hide behind the piles of "dirty" (which are still white) bedclothes! Sure there are huge piles of white sheet, so her wings can`t be seen easily and its not a place where you go searching for an angel first?
Or you hide her in an old and closed part of the building, but that`s where I would look first.
I, if I were an angel ;-)), would just get into the next empty bed on a station for old people, pull the cover up to my chin and pretend sleeping.

Yeah, that's an idea...! The laundry room. Interesting =) It actually makes a better hiding place than the chapel... although now that scene has already been written, haha :D

Hahaha, it's actually quite funny :D
First of all, I wrote the scene with her hiding under the, what's it called, place where the priest usually stands preaching. Underneath there is some room to store the chapel's instruments. So, I put her in there and then made her capture a guy who simply happened to come in to the story at that point :D Then I was so weirded out about not knowing what would happen next that I avoided writing about it for a good twenty pages =D
By now I just figured she'd been given drugs that make her see illusions and feel panicky. Saves me the trouble of making up some stiff chain of events coming up next, I don't have to redo the scene, cause it's pretty vivid in the way it now describes her drugged state of being :D Plus, it actually fits the story.
Uhmm, this whole genious "let's drug my character so that she simply wakes up and I'm spared the trouble" idea didn't sound as cheesy when I wrote it into the story...
