I'm making steady progress on this story and Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I'll hit 50K by midnight on Friday.

Of course, my story may not be finished and it certainly will still be the mess that all first drafts are. I haven't decided if I'm going to try to polish this one up, just for the experience, or seal it in Al Capone's vault and never think of it again. Either way, I'm going to need a group of equally insane... oops, "dedicated" novelists to spur me on.

Is anyone interested in an informal writing group? Maybe even just a once a month dinner thing or even just a yahoogroup so we can keep up via email?

I know several of you are involved in more formal writerly groups but I still feel like enough of a wannabe to do something like that. I'm just looking for the good natured, fun writing companionship we've got going.

BTW, I joined the Trebuchet Club today. No, it's not as naughty as it sounds, though I could work that into my story, too. :)

Yeah. That's a good point.
My father actually asked me today what happens when November is over. It made me sad.
I really enjoy the whole "Writers' Group" thing.
In fact, that's the reason I signed up for NaNo. I wanted to hang out with other writers and just talk about books and writing.
Sign me up!

I'm going to finish mine. Then pull the grade-school trick of outlining it after the draft's done, and see if I can't take it apart and put it back together as something fit for human consumption.

Most of my 'net time is spent on www.absolutewrite.com/forums, so I already have a writers' group/NaNo group there. (NaNo discussion is here: http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=87) They're always welcoming to newcomers. I wouldn't mind another group elsewhere, but I don't know how active I would be since there's that real-life thing that keeps getting in the way. ;)

A dinner get-together every so often could be fun.

Let's talk about it at the TGIO party on Sunday. Think about what you might want out of a postNano group and we'll see what the interest is.

Keep writing!!!
