TGIO = Thank God It's Over Party
The party is open to all, whether you crossed the finish line and got your pretty purple winner bar or whether you fell 49999 words short. It's not so much about who won and who didn't, but just getting together and relaxing after the madness of November has passed. Perhaps you would like to use the time to remind yourself that you will never do this again (that is, until October 2008 when your fingers start to itch) or perhaps you want to find out what other madness you can torture yourself with while you wait for the next round .
== Gauteng TGIO Party Info ==
Date: Sunday 2 December 2007
Time: 3pm to 5pm (but you can of course leave earlier if you like)
Venue: Cappucinos at Carslworld Lifestyle Centre, New Road, Midrand
Map: http://www.aboutmidrand.co.za/maps.php (choose the Carslworld Lifestyle Centre shortcut and zoom out from there to find your route)
Remember, you can bring a friend or family member for moral support and travel company, just add that to your numbers so I can make sure we have a seat for everyone.
For those wanting incentive, I still have a couple of official NaNoWriMo 2007 stickers left that will be handed out. This is open to all NaNo participants, regardless of whether you won or not.

I am in! Not sure where though, as I don't know Jo'burg or Pretoria that well yet. Thanks goodness for map book!

Love to meet some of my fellow South African writers! Perhaps if we're combining Pretoria and Jo'burg we should consider meeting half way - Midrand or Kyalami area? I'll go with the flow!

I like Midrand personally. Both because it is smack dab in the middle and also because... it seems so clean against Pretoria. Noticed that on Sunday after the write-in.
Seeing as how most people seem to have plans on Saturdays, we could have it on the Sunday if you want.
Any venue suggestions? We could do Mugg & Bean again, though the kick off party showed that they are not quite as good for a large(ish) group of people, but that might be fixed by asking that they not stick us in the corner this time.
I don't know, my brain is all hurtey, it doesn't want to think anymore.

Hey, Cali!
Yeah, Midrand sounds good. Been there twice now (well, three times actually but let's not talk about that, ahem). Sundays are good for me, Saturdays are out completely.
So... howzabout Sun afternoon, say from 3.00pm or so onwards? I like the Carlswald venue. If not M&B I think someone mentioned a Cappucinos or something there? Dunno anything about that, my experience of these sort of places is somewhat limited. Oh yeah, date... first Sun in December (I think it's the 2nd?)
OK. That's my say... brain fried, word count more in the doldrums than ever after about 8,000 words mysteriously disappeared overnight (no sign of them anywhere) and even Elf has stopped talking to me... grumble grumble grumble.
It\'s starting to look as though I'm gonna crash and burn this year... sob

All right, we can push it later a wee bit. Say about 3pm to 5pm? Sunday 2 December?
That leaves venue. There is indeed a Cappucinos at Carlswald (right on the corner, if I remember correctly). There are also quite a few other food stops there, but I can't find a list of them at the moment. So, do you guys want to try the Cappucinos or would you prefer the tried and tested Mugg & Bean?
Like I said, everyone is welcome, whether you finished or not. You are also welcome to bring a friend / family member / significant other. Just let me know so I can make sure they give us a big enough table!

I should be able to come. Might get there a little late, but will definitely be there long before 5.00pm. I'll check back here on Sat night to see what's happening.
Congrats to all the winners!!!! I've faced reality and have officially crashed and burned this year.

WinterWhite has a commitment before the party this afternoon but hopes to make it, albeit a leetle late.
I too will be late; unavoidable family commitment this afternoon, but I'll definitely be there.
See you all later.

Well, I'm here for whomever wants to join me. Have just ordered a very large, very blue drink. With a cherry in it. And now I am planning on playing some Poxnora until I am less alone.
Edit: I'm outside, if anyone was looking for direction at this very late stage, on the balcony. Chick with the laptop and big blue drink. Obviously I do not get out in the sun much, I had not known being outside would make seeing what's going on onscreen so very difficult.

sorry sweetie, i hope lots of people have joined you by now but i won't be there. domestic life interfered (bleh) and leaving now would leave too little time in your brilliant company. have heaps of fun!
see you next year!
