Heya - if you got a purple bar, stop on by and do some bragging! How did it go, was it easier or harder than before, or if it was your first time, how does it feel?
For me, it was a lot harder this time because instead of just writing for the pure joy of writing, I actually tried to write "something worthwhile" which I believe will eventually end up as a book that I will self-publish. However, I noticed it was not nearly as much "fun" and I did not laugh while writing like I did last year. Although last years was so bad it has never resurfaced, so I guess there is a trade-off.

It's too early or me to brag. I still have another fifteen to twenty-thousand words to go before I'm finished.
But it looks like the stuff I've written so far will be publishable after a few minor revisions and a final spellchecking.

Oh, I don't know. If all good writers didn't enjoy writing, we wouldn't have any books! But I know I get a lot of satisfaction out of the hard work, even if I'm not laughing all the time.
Me, I'm happy, though I wish I could have done more. Right now, I'm trying to figure out the emotional core of the scenes I'm writing. I know what happens, I just need to feel it. I'd hoped to get a first draft out of this, but it looks like I won't hit the end yet.

The novel is hardly over yet. I'm still trying to figure out how to get to the ending and what exactly it'll be like.
I feel like last year was so much easier, but I don't think it was. There was a lot more agonizing and staring at the screen in hopelessness. Considering I stopped writing twice might give you a good idea of how it went. I won, though, but didn't write as much as I could have. My story was closer to completion by the time I reached 50k.
I kind of wish my story was finished, or that I didn't care if I finished it as much as possible this month. Then I could stop! I'm sure it'll be worth it, however, when my progress graph looks utterly fabulous at the end, and I discover my novel is almost done.
I hope.
I rather like my novel as a whole. I wouldn't call it readable, thanks to my high standards, but in the least it's got a ton of potential and I'm enjoying the writing of it. I've learned a lot this year.

I can't believe I actually stuck it out this long.
And I also can't believe I got through the whole month without my roommate killing me. I think I deserve cookies for that.

Here, have a cookie.
I got to 50000 words and change, and wrapped up my story, but I don't think it's any good this year. Ah well, still a fun month!

I'm three for three, and a day early even!
I'm making up for the fact that I'm not finished by not stopping. This one's too good.

I just uploaded my 50,350 page novel and got my winner certificate. What a trip it's been. Mainly because it was so much easier than I expected. I had until tomorrow to finish, but I wrote something over 2,500 words both yesterday and today.
I honestly don't have any idea if it's got potential for being a "real" novel. Meaning longer, for one thing, and making sense for another, and of any interest at all to any reader for the third thing. Some of it is very, very pedestrian. And some parts are pretty cool. I wrote the big action climax scene today, with gunshot and stomping and kicking. Nobody died. Two people landed in the hospital. That was fun. Got my adrenaline going. Anyway, I'm quite jazzed to have accomplished it, and to realize that I can indeed write steadily and regularly.

I skipped no-so-merrily over the finish line today after getting shot up full of novocaine at the dentist. So finishing this was the best part of my day. I finished up the story I did last year. I won last year too, but the story didn't feel done, so I did what could be termed the second half or maybe just a sequel. Who knows? Anyway, I'm happy but I'm glad it's done. *Le Sigh*

Congratulations to all the winners, its a good feeling, not only to reach the goal but to have a novel that far along...whew!
Who is up for NaNoEdMo?

I'm so happy to see all these new winners here. ^_^ Congratulations, all.
Editing? Hahahaha! That is something for the far-flung future. It would require a ton more patience than I currently possess, the willingness to never do anything else again, and knowing how to write well in the first place.
...Okay, perhaps I'm still bitter over the last time I edited a piece of fiction. In any case, I'm still learning how to write, and don't have any strong intention to get published this soon or show off my work to others. This novel still needs to be finished, and after that, I am going to do anything but writing, and give some attention to my other hobbies.
I might officially do NaNoFiMo. In the least, I'll be more accountable than my subconscious wants me to be.

Wahoo! I love that purple bar, even if my story's nowhere near done, it's just like a cheery aesthetically pleasing cow-prod.
I'll be doing FiMo I think, as I've only just started getting to the main plot where it starts getting interesting. Sigh. I don't think it'll ever be publishable (both because of the subject and my writing [gag!]), but it's something I need to get off my chest, so that's good.

But seriously, I'm not as awesome as Keffy.

Frankly, I'm in awe of anyone who can manage more than 10k in a day. Even 5k in a day impresses me. xD
Hope your hands heal well, Keffy! You've made it, and are doubly awesome. Maybe that's triply or more. You know, for being ML and creating a challenge list big enough to be the first Q & A for November. :) Thanks for all your hard work.
