I feel like I am going crazy. My friend picked me up today, after I had been writing ALL day, and pretty much all week without talking to that many people... and we were in the car, and I still kinda felt 'in character' if you know what I mean. My story is 1st person, and so I've really gotten into the feel of my character. The heaters were on, and I was like "it's too hot! But... I don't like heat! Wait, do I? Wait... yes, I do! It's just Zarya who doesn't... I forgot, I DO like it..." and my friend was like "Are you okay? Are you well?" And I tried to explain all night how I was kinda too into my character in my story, and she was like yeah... I think you gotta take a break with that for awhile! Especially because I kept looking at the clock, going eeek! Only an hour for me to get my word count in!! and again, strange looks... like I have gone mad. Eeeeek!
Am I the only one who has gotten too into my story here??

Yes, I've been a little too into my story. Mine is third person, but the character is a lot like me. I'm just getting to a point where we are finding more about another character and I'm obessing about his personality. I just want to keep writing, but have to take a break now, UGH.

Ha! I know how you feel!
Mine's in first person also, and in the story Mc's love dies, and he gets very depressed, especially when certain things remind him of his love.
I actually cried about three days ago when I saw that was wearing a shirt exactly like the love would wear. It was messed up.

You're definitely not the only one. I think I fell in love with one of my characters. Don't think I'll try to explain that one to my wife :( Ah well, I'll get over it. That's why we have December, so we can ease ourselves back into what other people call "the real world". Part of me wonders whether it's healthy to get so involved in something fictional, and maybe I shouldn't do NaNo next year. But I'm sure I will. I can't imagine the idea of just letting a November pass without it.

I think therefore I am pretentious.

What is this "real world" of which you speak?

I pressed down the mental accelerator. The old lemon throbbed fiercely. I got an idea.
