Saw this in the Reaching 50 000 thread. Who cares about the rest of Nano. lets talk MELBOURNE! Who did you kill in your novel? (What we need is a gravestone generator, so we can make pics... I will investigate....)

I'd like to bury the twins James and Jeffry, two innocent factory workers who tried to do the right thing, but were shot by my bad guy, twice.

And to Sharon, the student who stood between the bad guy, Chad, his gun, and the MC, Jarred. You should have ducked.

Okay... spoilers but whatever no one's going to read my novel, if you are then don't read :p

Lets see... I killed an alien overlord, a pirate captain, then I killed Sasha... many ninjas died, a zombie hurt his wrist when he was pushed against a wall, eight giant wombats were blown apart, several monkeys, an overweight orang utan, money little wombats, a teacher, a whole lab of conformist assholes were shot and or burned to death, then I killed Sasha... then I destroyed the whole world, and then did it again, taking the rest of the universe with it just to make it a bit different, and then I killed Sasha's lover, then Sasha, then Sasha.

So umm... no small animals were harmed in the writing of this novel, and my MC had a bad time of it.

Hm.. I actually didn't kill off too many people directly in my novel, although.. wait, that's a lie, I killed *lots* of people. Most of them just didn't have names. RIP to the Tattooed Assassin, the Meditative Man, the China Doll, and countless others who died in the Arena.

Also, to my protagonist- don't rest in peace. May you be forever condemned to linger in limbo where your soul can endlessly relive the pain and suffering she endured over you.

Also RIP my MC who didn't die but suffered a hell of a lot, although she kind of deserved it. Er, no small animals were harmed in the production or progression of this novel, but many, many humans were, which is just how I like it.

I had my MC's love interest get ripped apart by wolves right after a really passionate scene (keeping it PG on here)- needless to say he did not survive. But a slightly twisted version of what happened did survive. IRC anyone? I also had my MC's parents get ripped apart by wolves, and I'm plotting to have one of the nice guys who only really came into the plot at the beginning then disappears until near then end get shot in the back by an evil guy with an arrow. And there will probably be more wolf ripping deaths, though I like my wolves. I also had a whole pack of wolves killed by men, but that was more indirectly, and one of those wolves was a baby cub who I really liked. *tear*

I haven't had much death in my NaNo so far - just two.

To Bjorn, elder spirit of Bear, fortunate enough to find a new cub before age overwhelmed his mortal frame. Your granddaughter Ursula will miss you.

To Meiling, who while not dead in the strict sense of the word, is still lost to the world that once knew her. Tyson will miss you and his ever-present and most faithful companion Lord Studley the Magnificent salutes you.

Yup! *grins*

Lol, nah, out of 50,000 words I've only had two wolf ripping people apart scenes. One of about 800 words, and another one which was probably about the same.

Oh, I forgot another character, an evil arctic leopard spirit killed by a good polar bear spirit. :) No wolf ripping scene there!

Rest in peace Julia, God will find a place for you in heaven.

Rest in another world than this, Nathan; you may have only been part of an experiment in this world but your next is sure to be more interesting.

Rose, you're not allowed to rest just because you're dead. Get back to work.

...it was an interesting series of deaths, in that the characters had more screen time after they died.

I don't ... kill anyone in my story. It's set in the underworld - so they're all already dead on a technicality I guess. lol.
My story is wolf-free (at the moment this one is anyway - other stories of mine have wolves - but the wolves are allies).
Innocent minus passion.
Lot's of passion.
Lot's of dead passion? o.O

In what I had done, two alpha wolves died so far, and I nearly killed another female, but she got away.

Do anthropomorphic wolves count? If so, I have two to add to that count :P

Let's see, there was one guy (but he was pre-nano)- he was known as ex-minister Davey. He was an exile from society, stripped of his citizenship, and cast from his mortal coil in passing his quest for truth to the main character. He thus lives on as a voice in the mind of a troubled soul. Additionally, he gave my MC a little memorial gift in the form of a datacube, for his posthumous edification.

The two wolves worked on a security detail on a space station far far away (but still in the same galaxy- hell, just on the far end of Orion arm, so no Star Wars for you :P) It would have been fitting if they had died, for they were the belligerent smart-asses who first detained my MC. However, I don't know if they were , or even if any of the security forces were killed as a result of my MC's desperate flight from the station. Either way, they were faceless opponents who would be forgotten, becoming only vague whispers that weighed on a suppressed conscience.

I believe I've just stolen "vague whispers that weighed on a suppressed conscience." But no one will ever know that I nicked it off you! You can't prove anything!

You just be careful with that phrase ganking, my friend. If this goes on too long we won't be able to tell our works apart :P

If the situation becomes dire, I shall have to hop in my little motor car, drive down the road and stalk you!

It's a sad day when 'ganking' is a term in common net usage :p

Well I killed off my character Millie (check my profile, her death is there). Its quite funny, from the word go Cassandra was very bossy and knew what she wanted. Until it was written and then she sort of became passive. However, poor Millie. Her name appeared to me and the next thought about the character was: She's going to die.

RIP Millie, you did well.
