I know its completely crazy, but I actually miss the insanity of NaNoWriMo! Having a deadline really worked for me in terms of getting so much writing done. I loved making new connections with so many cool people on the site. I miss the stress (did I really say that?!) of feeling committed to writing every single day. Is anyone with me on this or have I completely lost my mind?
Emily =)

I agree with you on most of your comments. I didn't feel the 'pressure' so much, but rather enjoyed the challenge ot reaching daily goals. I met a number of people on the site also. One in particular, turned out to be a great online writing partner (We kept YIM up and even had races). The writing group I belong to had 5 participants, 3 won and the other two had great excuses!
I learned many things during the month about writing. Now I just need some time to digest it all. I think the most important thing I took away from the month, is getting that first draft out quickly without dithering about, and editing chapter 1 to death before chapter 2 is written. It is extemely hard to 'edit' a draft you havn't written yet.
I had fun. I will definately be back next year.....better prepared of course!!

I'm not missing it too much, but that's simply because I didn't get to the end of my story, so I am still working on it. Which I guess is one way to deal with missing NaNo :-) But it is true that it will be somewhat harder and less fun without write-ins and tons of people on the forums.
Of course, there's always NaNoEdMo and Big Scary Adventure....

Ok so I have to say I might actually be nuts. I really loved doing this and I was actually considering trying to push myself to do this more often. Maybe not 50k since I have a part time babysitting job to do now. Litlle kids are very tiring when you arent use to doing so much walking. Anyway I'm hoping to have my book done by maybe the end of January. I still have a lot to write. I guess it would help if I knew where this book was actually supposed to end. Well we'll see.
Even though I wasn't able to go to any of the write ins I am glad I was able to meet some new people. It was lots of fun to have the word races with the people who had YIM that I met. I even found a writing partner in all this which I think is wonderful. I really did enjoy myself and I will be back next year. I even have an idea for next year already
Happy writing/editing.
