Those of us that went to the TGIAO party last night all agreed that we've enjoyed the write-ins and parties and meeting fellow Bristolian (and Bathian and Weston-super-Marian...yes, I know that's wrong) writers so much that we want to continue meeting up, as an informal writing group. So we have pencilled in Thurs 13th Dec, 7pm-ish, at the Watershed, to meet again.

If anyone else is interested in doing this please come along, even if you didn't make any of the November meetings. We can share writing if people want to do that, so bring something if you want to.

Hope to see lots of people there!

Josie

I'm planning to be there, if I can stay awake long enough to get to Bristol. :-)

I don't know about sharing this year's effort, because it's of extremely poor quality, but I'll consider bringing bits of one of the previous years' works.

I shall be there!! I'm really pleased we're going to keep meeting up. Haven't had time to touch my novel for about a week, it's a very odd feeling. :S

well, as someone who made a total of one meeting and bottomed out somewhere around 900 words* i think this is a spiffing idea.

despite not having been in Bristol for more than 36 hours in November, I'd quite like to find some NaNoers down here too. Of course, it's looking like I shan't be down much in future either (bar Saturday), but what the hey ^^

Having gotten really excited about coming this week, I didn't go to bed until 5am and I'm pretty fragged, so I might not make it due to collapsing in a heap somewhere. :S

Hey everyone!

Was great to see those of you who came last night! Sorry if I was grumpy/quiet, Christmas lurgy has found me and won't leave me alone. For anyone who didn't come but is still interested in future meet-ups this is what we decided last night:

- We will meet once a fortnight initially, and see if this is ok / too frequent / too infrequent. So that'll be every other Thurs, around 7.30pm at the Watershed.
- We'll circulate stories/chapters to each other by email before the meet-up and read each other's stuff for commenting on. Obviously you don't have to circulate anything if you don't want to, just come and chat if that's what you wanna do, but I think most of us are keen to have opinions/advice on our stories, or just an incentive to start tidying them up
- Erm, that's about it.

So the next one will be 28th Dec. Yes I know lots of people will be away enjoying themselves, but I'm not, so come and share post-Christmas gloom, I mean cheer, with me.

Oh yeah, and we exchanged email addresses last night for the circulation thing to be possible, so can others who want to get in on this either post your email ad here or if you don't want to have it on here email it to me - josie_jem@hotmail.com

I think that's all...Feel free to jump in...

I'll miss that one (again), as I'm still at home, but hopefully sometime in January I will emerge... maybe...I might even have written something...

Erm...I just realised I got the date wrong and today, the 27th, is the Thursday. Also I haven't had a chance to circulate anything yet because, well, I haven't done any work on my story yet (still). Should we skip this one and just meet up in Jan when everyone is back and free?

I'm not fussed what the date is, I just went along with the Thursday-after-Christmasness of it...

I was thinking driving up for tonight's meet, for about 7.30ish, if anybody else still fancies meeting up...

I think that might be for the best. I was umming and erring over whether to go tonight, as I still have some holiday lethargy, and I haven't done too much writing in the past few weeks (and the stuff I have written I, err, can't show anyone :shifty eyes:) due to various things.

Excellent, yes, sorry about my ineptness, shall we meet on the 10th Jan then? Which I'm pretty damn sure is indeed a Thursday. I've finally started editing so I will send round a chapter or two soon.

I'm looking forward to the 10th already. My Nano novel still needs a lot of work which I've not had a chance to do yet, but I have a short story I could send around for comments if anyone is interested. Do we have an email list already?

Heey, I've forgotten to look on here in my excitement recently. I wasn't around on the 27th anyway. I might be able to make the 10th - thats the middle of revision week for me but I might want an evening off by then. I've been writing a series of short stories that are related but they're really quite grim and I'm not sure I'd want to show them off. I've spent about 5 minutes on my NaNo over the last three weeks! But I'd like to see other peoples stuff!

My email is rachel@eadon.org.uk.

Can we post our emails here so everyone has everyone's? Mine is josie_jem@hotmail.com. Feel free to start sending me stuff.

I think I might re-order it a bit before I send it over, it's all over the place at the moment. :S

Liking the stuff I've read so far. :)

Unfortunately, I doubt I'm going to make it tonight. My throat's really bad, and it's currently a struggle to say anything legibly. Hopefully I'll make it next time.

Hey, I'm really sorry I didn't make it last night. I'm having something of a personal crisis and ended up spending last night being consoled with pringles and Top Gun. How many people came in the end?

6 of us came, though only 3 sent stuff round beforehand, but it was good (in fact I'm currently editing my story based on all the helpful comments I got last night). We decided to meet next Thursday again instead of a fortnight's time because of Russ' shift work.

Hope your personal crisis gets sorted, whatever it may be....and hope to see you next week if it does!

I'm not going to commit to whether or not I can get there this week - I've got two more exams before Thursday and it's plausible I won't feel up to it. I would like to come though. I tidied up the first part of my short story, mostly, so I'l post that round when I next get at my email account. :)

Ahoy! might even make it this week, since I'll have just the one exam left.

I'm moltare (at) gmail (dot) com if anyone needs to contact me or mailing list malarkey needs to occur.

I think we agreed to meet in a fortnight, so there isn't one this week.

Hey. Was fun meeting most of you last week. I do have some work I might show around for next weeks meet up, but I would need the mailing list. My email is jcameron87[at]gmail.com. I'm not sure if I gave it right on the night. That single pint of Guinness probably addled my handwriting.

Cheers,

James
