I am. For a friend as a christmas pressie because that's how cheep I am. I'm gunna start it in a notebook since my lappy got taken away (I miss it ever so much) and Stargate is coming on TV in 20 minutes. Then, I'll type it out later today.

I've really no idea what I'm going to write. It's going to be realistic (like what happens from day to day, unlike the sci-fi I usually write) and I only have the characters from the dream I had last night (which was awesome by the way).

I'm posting this here because I need an editor (since the pressie is for my *current* editor). Someone to read it and correct all the horrible mistakes I make (and, trust me, there are a lot of them). I'll post more about the plot when I know about it to see who's interested.

I also need y'all to keep me writing it:-P It's only a short story, so I say gimme a week and if it's still not done, just badger me until I write faster:-P

Hope December isn't too much of a let down for the rest of you (I know it was for me my first year),
Ziggi

P.S. Terribly sick so yey for writing instead of going to school!

A story is a very sweet gift and I'd be happy to do any editing or reading to provide any help you need.

Hope you're feeling better soon...

Peter

The boys walked down the crowded hallway after the last period of the day. 'I can't believe we got this sh*tty assignment,' Ari complained. Their english teacher had just given them an assignment to write about one thing that happened to them over the summer and how it has impacted their life. 'Does he not get that our lives are f*ck*ng boring?'
'I think he must've missed the memo,' Sam responded as they entered his and Knox's room. He layed down on the bed and watched the others. 'Any thoughts on what you're gunna write about?' he asked curiously. They all came from different parts of the country and had barely spoken over the two months they had been apart.
'I went to France in August. Think I could get something outta that?' Lindsey asked, sitting on Knox bed. 'I certainly didn't, but who's going to be honest in this. We're all going to b*llsh*t our way through. I can say that it changed my career path and seeing all that culture and museums made me aspire to be a painter,' he said, mock inspiredly. He relaxed on the bed and shrugged. 'Seems to be what he's after, anyway.'
'I got high way to much for what's good for me,' Ari joked. 'It impacted me pretty alright,' he added with a smiled.
'Now, I know that's not what he's looking for,' Lindsay said, pointing to Ari. 'Had to have done something better?'
Ari shrugged. 'Who the f*ck cares. It isn't due for another week; I'll think about it then. So, Knox what special things did you get up to this summer?' he asked. Knox was still slumped at the doorway, feeling awkward in his own room. Ari knew that Knox was in love with him and Knox knew that he knew, but Ari didn't go that way and the boys always teased him.
Knox swallowed nervously and shrugged. 'Nothing that fits this assignment, that's for sure,' he said in a quiet tone. The boys were all used to this and continued talking as if Knox had never spoken. Every year, Knox started out awkward and shy, but after a few weeks he began to feel comfortable with them again and spoke up a bit more, if only to them.
After a few hours, a teacher poked his head into the room. 'It's time to get ready to sleep, boys. Summer's over, school begins promtly and eight tomorrow,' he said and left. They all groaned, but got up obiediantly.
They brushed their teeth and dressed for bed. Knox and Sam layed on their beds with the lights out. 'How's it feel to be back?' Sam asked.
Knox turned to face him, all he could see was the outline of his face by the moonlight. 'It's weird. But nice. The entire summer all I could do was wish to be back here, in Ari's presense; thinking maybe this time it would be different, he would see me. Now, the reality has sunk in and I miss being back home with my fantisies. They were so vivid I started to believe they were real. A part of me believed them and the other part knew it was bullocks,' he said. He always warmed up to Sam the fastests and he was the first person Knox had told about his feelings. Every year they spent endless nights awake together, Knox upset at something Ari had said or did.
Sam had been listening with his eyes closed and when it was done, he sighed and opened his eyes. 'I know exactly how you feel. Get some sleep, though. Big day tomorrow,' he said, rolling onto his back and closing his eyes again. 'Good night, Knox.'
'Night,' Knox replied, closing his eyes and drifting into sleep.

That's the first little bit I thought I should post. They're all gods. Knox is like the Zeus king of gods type, Sam is the other 'good' god, and Ari and Lindsey are hell gods. I have the mythology more developed, but I don't feel like getting into it at the moment:-)

Right, I'm actually writing three, because two of my other friends have requested short stories for christmas. I'm not sure what those are going to be about, though. Will know at least one by Monday (hopefully). Planning on getting this one nearly or all finished by the end of the weekend.

What a great, original gift idea. No one but you can give those particular pressies!

:-) Thanks, Gale. I'm glad people aren't telling me it's because I'm too cheap to buy anything (which is the reason). It's always nice to know people don't see the real reason and go with something better and nicer:-)
