Reading through the language resource thread, someone's comment made me think that it might be useful to have a contact directory of people, organised by language you are learning. And now I think about it, another organised by language you can help WITH.

So, if you could reply below, that will help me see which language for definite (because in the other threads, there's a lot of "I'd like to" or "I have the tapes", but it's not always clear for sure what people are going to DO).

Please reply to say which ones you are setting the goal of learning, and which you could help with, in terms of conversation and practice. Something like:

Learning:
German

Can help with:
Italian

As long as it's clear (to make bold, put beforehand and then after (no . in the brackets though). Then I'll edit it into this post :-)

I'm spreading myself a bit thin on some of this and so far most of this is something I'm teaching myself.

seeking to learn Sumerian (less about speaking and more of the basics of language structure and cuniform writing) and gealic (irish preferably) but getting any two sources to agree what that is ,is nearly impossable.

in the process of learning Mandarin (spoken, writing might take a bit more time), Japanese, greek (and maybe the written form of the ancient version of it).

Can help with Glossolalia (if you really want, not that it's an actual language, but it can be fun)

Hey!
Thought I'd let you know about a free language learning tool that my kids and I use. It's awesome! I've moved up to the paid product because it allows you to make your own lists. You can also share lists, and there are lists from textbooks there too. But we started out with the free product. Let me know what you think!

http://www.byki.com/

There are a ton of languages to choose from. Check it out!

I'm working on Spanish now. I'm not a master at anything yet, but have some French, Latin and Japanese.
