We all know Tassie is the best place to be so here we are to write and celebrate the awesome of Tassie and all that. This is my third year of Nano with two wins under my belt I think I'm going to be doing something a little different this year, so hopefully that works out.

This is my second year, but my third attempt at 50k in one month (I was rather angry at myself for only getting halfway in november so tried june too - during nanomango). I'm hoping 'third time lucky' applies to me!

Allow me to begin. Here I am, a restless soul who just shy of a year ago decided to move to the Pilbara. Port Hedland to be specific. South Hedland to be even more specific. Yeah, there is no thread for us here......and we are kinda invading the South Coast thread.....lol. So i think a thread for us out on the "fringes of society" (a direct quote from my brother) is on the cards.

I honestly don't mind being with people a few years younger than me, i mean i do have a sister about your age (she's 16). I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to recruit some of my friends but alas, exams are in the way of Nano-ing - that or they are all on prac teaching....beware my friends may be teaching at a school near you!

Oh, add away! I'm not fussed! lol :) I'll add ya to mine as well. :D

What about Scribbles Cafe or the Coffee Club or even Gloria Jeans one weekend? It'd have to be a sunday though cause i work at Thomas Jewellers on saturdays, and i assume you are all at school on weekdays (not this week anyway ya'll on holidays!). Let me know, if ya wanna meet this week i'm free most days (just have an hour tutorial on thursday 10am).

This year, due to an interesting shift of life events I'm now living and shall be writing my WriMo novel in the Torres Strait. I'm rather dubious that there is anyone else up here who even knows NaNoWriMo exists, but if you are out there, please give me a shout and let me know I'm not alone! We can encourage each other, you know, and fight against the terrible lure that is the glorious tropical beaches and the midday siestas that are sure to tempt us to leave behind out WriMo pursuits... :-D :-D

Who's interested in online word wars?

Hello all, I'm your ML ^^ I'm going to do my best to keep you all motivated throughout November!

The option which seems to work best is word wars, which is where we all get together online (in an AIM chat, or on MSN or something similar) at an agreed time and then we all hush up and set the timer for 1/2 an hour (or whatever we like) and we just WRITE. It keeps us on task and helps those skilled in procrastinating ;D

Usually it's like a friendly competition, the idea is to write AS MUCH AS WE CAN in that half hour and it usually gives people a good 1,000 words in that iddy-biddy half hour, which really gets us close to the daily quota!

Would anyone be interested? :)
