Friendly Notice:

This thread is for any plans anyone is making to host any of the aforementioned events in either the Saitama or Tokyo prefectures only. Please feel free to start new threads by region for events elsewhere so everything is easy to find. I'm requesting this system since this forum is for the entire country. This way those of you not affected by a write-in in Okinawa or Hokkaido or what have you don't have to go searching through a thousand posts for what does apply to you.

And feel free to pester me to get your event put in the Asia::Japan regional calendar no matter where it is. =)

Hello all and welcome to NaNoWriMo 2008!

I’m Stephanie and I’ll be your ML for this month-long decent into literary chaos. I just moved to the Saitama region last month, and although I may be new to the area, I’m not new to NaNoWriMo or MLing, so if you have any questions at all feel free to contact me via email or private message. Previously, I worked for 2 years as ML for the Arizona::Flagstaff region, and I am excited to be working with new people this year. Namely, all of you!

Since we are in the odd situation of having one ML for an entire country, please bear with me and be patient if it takes some time to get back to you. I have an entire populace’s worth of questions to answer. In two languages. One of which I am not terribly good at yet. My apologies to those of you who understand both languages for how awful my Japanese will be. Also, I’m encouraging everyone to set up kick off parties and write ins for their own areas. I’ll be setting up events for the Saitama/Tokyo area, but I realize not everyone can make it to Ikebukuro or Sakado or where have you, and it wouldn’t be fair for you all to miss out.

I’m hoping to get to know as many of you as possible this year, so I’m going to ask for everyone to introduce themselves here. It’s been my experience that the more people you have cheering you on (or threatening on, as the case may be) the better the writing process goes. So, make some new friends! We don’t need much, just your name, maybe what genre you plan on writing this year, etc. Be friendly. =)
