That it was nice meeting you all at the few meetings/write-ins I did get to. As of the end of the month, I will no longer have a job. My boss is getting rid of me. So, I'm forced to move back to Florida. That all said, I've been off nano since the day he told me this past week pretty much. I just not only lost my drive, but there is just so much to do before December 5th for me to get out of my apartment (I have to sell most everything I own since I can't afford to rent a moving van). Things have been very tough, especially emotionally, so I'm just trying to make it through the month at this point. And, I'm now getting a cold. Ha.
Anyway, I wish you all the best of luck not only with your novels, but in everything you do.

Online word war, anyone?

Hi all!

It was great seeing those of you who came out Sat. and Sun. I got a huge boost to my word count.

Speaking of boosts...

One thing that has always helped me is word warring, which can be done online or face to face. For those who aren't familiar with the term, a word war is a period of time (to be determined by the participants) during which everyone writes as much as they can, until the time is up. At that point, word counts are shared, and whoever wrote the most "wins". It can be a great motivator.

I challenge anyone who can read this to a word war. If I'm online (info. to be shared below) then I'm up for one.

The IM program I use most is yahoo. I have handles at all the major services, but yahoo is the place to catch me. The ID there is: maerwyn@ymail.com. The "@ymail.com" has to be entered along with the "maerwyn". Just FYI.

The time is now: 6:26 am. For all those early to risers who have time to write...join me.

(I'll probably be on for a few hours, so you'll have time to catch me!)

word count lagging, internet speeding (finally)!

Hi everyone,

I have been without any Internet for some time, and so I missed the notices about write-ins this weekend. :-( This afternoon high speed was installed, much to my excitement, and so I should be able to keep up with the goings-on around here.

I hope everyone had a good time. Now that I have yet another distraction to my writing, perhaps I'll write *more*? One can hope.

At least I can use Pandora again. That will most definitely HELP my writing.

Just thought I'd drop in and say hello to everyone! I moved up here earlier this year and it's awesome to see a community of Nano'ers hanging about. I'm originally from Rocky Mount NC, and i think the last time i checked, there were like 13 people there who did Nano and of them, I believe only 7 actually updated any word counts. I was in the Raleigh region, but that was 45 minutes away :-(

Anyway, just thought I'd stop in and say hello to everyone! I don't have any kind of Laptop and my Muse forbids me to use pencil and paper, but i might see you guys out and about and stuff. We're gonna be the #1 region this year! You can count on it!

How to update your word count

Hendersonville Weekly Write-ins

I work until 6pm Mon-Fri, so I was thinking 6:30 to 8 or 8:30pm write-ins would be cool. Anyone interested?
