Someone's got a case of the Mondays

Unfortunately, I have conflicting work and NaNo schedules, so I will no longer be attending the Monday write-ins at Wedge-Capanna. Last week was just me and BDMorgan, and today I was a bit late and only stayed for a little while, but I didn't see any of our semi-regulars, so I'm heading home.

So, just a reminder: Thursdays around 2, we'll meet at Java Juice. Shianan and I stuck to the yellowy couches with the chess boards last week (which is where some NaNo meetings were last year), so I hope to stick to that area. Saturdays at 6 we'll be back at Wedge-Capanna. I again like the couch area, but there are no guarantees that it'll be available (tonight it was being used).

Sorry about the schedule changing, guys.

I got this back from Scott this morning regarding the workshop meeting every 2nd and 4th Thursday.

"Sounds Great!

I am writing it in the calendar for January 8th and January 22nd at 7pm. You don't have to end at a specific time as long as your done before 930. I will reserve tables in the cafe for the group and put it in the January Calendar which will also be in our newspaper press releases. Is there a particular description for the group you would like included?

I'm really surprised there is no activity in this thread six days into October. There is everywhere else.

Where are all our Iowa City writers?

I've moved here in March, so I don't know many people yet, and was really looking forward to meeting local area writers, college transplants or not.

Intro / Scheduling Post

Heeeeey, guys. It's the world's worst ML here. New name, same lack of motivation.

I have the world's worst schedule this semester (I say that every year, right?), so I will be around for write-ins on Monday and Tuesday nights, and any other day in the afternoon. I'm thinking maybe lunchtime on Fridays. If you want to start your own set of nightly write-ins, feel free!

Write-ins and Kickoff

I've only got a few minutes of internet, so this will be a bit short.

I plan to have write-ins on Mondays at 8 and Saturdays at 6 at Capanna, same place as last year. I will probably be around on Thursday afternoons as well.

I saw mention of someone wanting to kickoff Saturday at Capanna. I support this idea and I plan to be there around 6:30.

I am 110% cool with official NaNo get togethers that I cannot religiously attend, so if you can scrounge up even one more person and meet up on different days/places, go for it! I know I can't meet everyone's writing needs with my schedule.

Someone was disappointed that there were cookies and cake promised (really? I never heard about cake :( ) and did not come through, but as a big fan of cookies and cake, I will try my hardest to bring at least one of these wonderful things to write-ins I host/attend.

Hopefully I'll see you guys next Saturday!

Kick-Off Party?

I would love for us to have one November 1, if that's at all feasible. Last year we hung out at Capanna, the gelato place right next to the Iowa City Public Library. Good times, good times. It's centrally located, there is parking-- even if you do have to pay for it-- and the gelato shop doesn't seem to care how long we stay.
