Anchorage Kickoff Please RSVP

Hi everyone. It's that time of year. Whoo Hoo. The anchorage crew will be doin our kickoff on Oct 31st at 9:00 pm at the Denny's on Denali. We will play games and stuff and then at midnight start the writing. Some of us have been working on some surprises so we would like to get an idea of how many people will be there. If you could just reply to this thread and let us know you are coming it would be great. Howevere if you don't get a chance to post you are still VERY welcome. Also we are encouraging everyone to come dressed as a charater in their book. It does not have to be the main character and it is not required that you dress up. Looking forward to seeing all of you.

Kim,

I've been thinking I'd like to chip in with some prizes and have some ideas of a few items I could get that could be thrown into the goody bags. I'll bring them to our regular meeting in Oct. I would get enough of each item for 10 or 15 people. (Or should it be more like 20+?) I wonder if anyone else would like to do the same? We have such a wonderful ML, it'd be nice to help her out.

Hey, Mat-Su wrimos! Input, please!

Hey, gang! Jean (indigo) and I are working on finalizing arrangements for our November events! WOOHOO! More exciting news: in addition to our traditionally awesome Saturday write-ins, we're working on adding a mid-week write-in so that even more wrimos can get together and wordstorm it up. Awesome? Yes. :)

SO. Here's what we need from you. In a perfect world where everything revolved around you, what would you prefer for a:

- weekend write-in
Saturday or Sunday? Start-time of 10am or afternoon?

- midweek write-in
What day of the week? I thiiiink this will probably be an evening event, but we'd still love to hear if you have a preference for start time so we can be as workable for folks as possible.

There are a couple of space availability/scheduling things still up in the air that could wind up being deciding factors, but we promise to do our best to schedule things as conveniently as possible for as many people as possible.

Hey, speaking of which - if you don't live in the Valley, don't think that means you're not invited! We love visitors, and our write-ins are a lot of fun. We kick out the words like nobody's business, we give out prizes, it's just a lot of fun. Join us!

And one last note - if, when things get all scheduled, it turns out that your Awesome Schedule of Life doesn't quite jive with our Awesome Schedule of Events, feel free to make a post here on the forum to see if someone would like to have a mini-write-in with you. It's so much more fun to write when someone else is furiously writing away across the table from you. No reason you should miss out on that just because of an inconvenient schedule. :) (Always be safe, though. Public places, letting people know where you're going to be and all that. Wrimos have a tendency to be Incredibly Cool People, but it -is- still the internet.)

Yay It's Back up

Oh I am so happy! I have been wondering aimlessly for days, just waiting and watching. I am getting so excited about this year. I will also announce the Kickoff party for Anchorage will be held at the Denny's on Denali at 9:00 on October 31st. We will be doing some games and such until midnight and then will be mad writing. The Anchorage crew also gets together the third thursday of every month and we will be there in October too. For the kickoff please come (if you so desire) dressed as one of your characters, be it major or minor. I am so looking forward to seeing all of you.
