-You've almost worn out your Band of Brothers, Colditz, POW and other assorted mini series about war DVD's and it's no longer just about watching Damien Lewis, but a certain amount of comparison between the dramatisation and the real thing (guilty. Except that I still stare at Damien Lewis ; ))
-While watching Band of Brothers you suddenly realise that you understand the technical terms and most of the slang
-It's entirely possible that you have WWII era American Paratrooper marching songs on your iPod (I am so guilty of this)
-Your history lecturer is starting to get worried at the amount of interest you are showing in his obscure research paper on the marching songs of Australian soldiers in the Pacific

Add your own, share my pain and someone please tell me I'm not completely insane for the marching songs thing ; )

You're certainly not insane. I'm writing Westerns, and I have tons of old cowboy songs on my iTunes playlist. I also frequently get the theme from the "Rawhide" TV series stuck in my head, and then have to sing it. :P

-You get blank (or faintly disturbed) stares from people when you walk in toting 800 pages of Peter Hoffmann's "History of the German Resistance" and you tell them, no, it's not for some torturous school assignment from your purely sadistic professor.

-Between keeping up with friends' updates on Facebook you're researching what type of cartridge was used with a Mosin-Nagant M1891/30.

-You see someone wearing a ball cap with the Screaming Eagles insignia on it and you want to hug them.

-Ditto the Band of Brothers thing, of course ;)

Instead of talking about what time the sun sets, you want to talk about blackout time. (if you're setting your novel in Britain)
