It's still several months until NaNo starts up again (boooo), so what writing projects are you working on to pass the time?
At the moment I'm planning and world building my NaNo 08 story, so that I'll definitely be ready when November comes around. I'm really excited about this story. Can't wait to write it.
I'm also writing a few short stories, and (cringe) about to attempt an edit/rewrite of last years NaNo.
That last one is painful, that story is a mess. xD

Writing last year's NaNo's prequel of course! 100k by end of July, shouldn't be too hard now school is out. :)
And then rewriting last year's NaNo. (100k in August. This will be ... fun.)
And then planning NaNo 08. (For which there are many ideas, but none which particularly catch my eye right now.)
And then trying to finish writing that fanfic I started two years ago. Which, now that I'm thinking about it, I might make NaNo 08.
Not too much to do right? :D

I'm juggling three ideas for starting a mid-summer July project. Haven't a clue on what to start first so I'm just doing all of them.

Just finished one fanfic novella (33k words) and about to start another. I hope to work through that draft pretty fast. Then there's a draft of a novel length fic that needs some serious editing.
Once a week I work on a series about a couple of original characters spun off from my fanfic stories. That's done in parts, anywhere between 5 and 15k long usually. I work on that on Sundays only. Heh, I intended to get six parts of that completed in 2008. I've already done that! So whatever I do on it the rest of the year is gravy. :D
Also I've got a goal to write a short story of at least 1000 words every month this year (except possibly November!) so I'm working on coming up with July's now.

I've been going over the basic plot I had for Nano 07 and revising it. I think it's good enough now to maybe add a good 10-20K words onto what I ended up with last november.
I also unearthed a fanfic that I wrote two or three years ago that I actually thought I'd lost forever. I'm typing it up as it is at the moment (the paper copy is all bits and pieces with three different beginnings :S) and then I'm hoping to revise that and have it sitting neatly finished for my own pleasure :)
I've also come up with a plot for a prequel to my 07 Nano that I'm keen to work on but I'm saving that for this years Nano so I've just scribbled down the idea for now and I'll work on it closer to the time.
For now, I'm focusing mostly all of my energy on re-writing my original draft of my Nano and hopefully coming up with something better lol

Right now I'm finishing the second draft of my '07 NaNo novel Bad Company for JulNoWriMo. I now have my total word goal set at 70,000 (starting from over 16,000), and I'm hoping to get over 100,000 if necessary.
Also, I'm rewriting at least the first issue of my manga Spanner, and I'm taking part in 50 Songs in 90 Days, hoping to write at least 10 songs this month, including some for BadCo main girl Charlie to sing.

Well, I have about 10 fanfics I'm working on, most of which are about 5 or so chapters, but I just started a major work... Hopefully about 35 chapters... And I'm basically trying to write just a bit each day. It passes time, and it's fun.
In October I'll start heavily preparing for the NaNo.

I'm working on my off-season novel - it's five chapters away from completion, after five years of working on it. I also have a few other stories brewing, mostly fanfiction. And then there's my '07 NaNovel - I'm trying to decide whether or not to finish it, or to scrap it and begin again this year.

I am doing a project that I found-- write 100 short stories based around a list of themes and terms. It's very interesting to work with, and very new to me as I don't write short stories too happily. I'm also working on my novel, Kalie, which is ten chapters in. Then there will be about a million little projects strewn throughout the year that will be quikly cast aside.
This is my first NaNo, so I'm a little anxious, but I think I'll do okay...

Two projects at the moment, though one isn't so much in the works yet...
I've dubbed them project 1 and project 2, based on order of priority:
Project 1: "Creep"
A.K.A. Finish last year's NaNoWriMo novel before November sneaks up on me again.
Project 2: "Beautiful Like Me"
A.K.A. Research/Plot for next year's NaNoWriMo novel before November sneaks up on me again.

And in addition, once I finish the second draft of my '07 novel for JulNo, I'm going to go on and finish the first draft of my neglected '06 novel for AugNoWriMo. And I'll be continuing to write songs and hoping to finish the 50th by October 1. I just bought a guitar chord book to help me both write songs and learn to play the guitar.
Meanwhile, I'm still plotting and worldbuilding this year's novel. My muse is already trying to jump the gun and start me writing it. Sorry, muse, I say: you'll have to settle for a synopsis. I'll flesh it out on November 1.

I'm working on a story which has been in the works for three years.
It's currently 146 words long. I added 92 words today before giving up. Bow before me, all you people of inferior dedication to their writing!
It might just be possible that, given that this is the story's fifth reincarnation, I may be on to a loser.

1. Finishing up and editing--not particularly in that order--my second-string '07 nano.
2. Writing the rough draft of stupid story that I am starting to despise because of the seven unwritten years we've known each other.
3. A space opera short story. There is nothing more to say about this one. Nothing.
4, 5, 6. Stories of indeterminate length set in the same universe as my '07 nano.
7. etc...

I'm trying to finish up the rough draft of Nano 2005. I did a little research on it yesterday. I really thought I'd written more on the climax scenes, but I can't find it anywhere. I hate having to reinvent the wheel here, but I don't think I have a choice. Dang!
I'm also working on writing a chapter by chapter synopsis as I go through the rough draft, to make sure that the whole thing flows properly and makes sense.

Me? Well, I can't seem to keep writing projects away from me. ;-)
First of all, I am working on a novel that I started writing before I decided to do NaNo. It is a fantasy story and is currently 28,000 words. I going to try and finish the first draft before November, so that I don't have try and switch tracks before and after NaNo.
Secondly, I am toying around with a tween novel for a contest. It's actually a really neat contest for teens in high school, because if you win, you get your novel published! I wasn't planning on doing this, but one of my dear friends is doing it and I don't want her to do it alone...
Thirdly, I just decided to co-write another fantasy novel with aforementioned friend (with Dragons!!!). Since we are both really excited about it, I don't think we'll be able to keep from jumping right in to it.
Add planning for NaNo '08 on top of all that, and, well, I'll be busy writing for a loooooooong time. :-)

I've decided to have another NNWM this month, doing two 50 000 word unrelated stories. I'm about 12000 words from completing the first. It's a step up to the 200 000 words I'm going to try to tackle in November. ;)

I'm working on various writing projects; of course I'm still writing articles for my now 400+ websites; I'm still running the Pidgie Fund which as always is keeping my life very busy and very active and takes up about 85% of my day; ; I'm still working on my art which is bringing in some money off and on, here and there, though I wish it'd bring in more money more often; Since the end of InuYasha and Rumiko's announcement of the end of my fave couple, I'm ranting and fuming and raging mad about what happened to Sesshy and Rin, and I'm working on my latest CosPlay. And that is what I am doing these past few weeks.

I have one main project that I work on constantly and it is my life. Since the title is old and really makes no sense, my girlfriend has titled it "Leon and Friends." Which I find to be cute; not official title though. But that's my life project, with the exception of November.
I'm also thinking about plots for NaNo 08. I have three in mind at the moment.

Trying to finish up a proper working draft of my 2005 NaNo, actually. Almost 20k in, another 60k to go. xP I hope to have it finished by the end of August, and then I will promptly ignore it until at least December before edit it. XDD
Kinda thinking about my 08 NaNo, planning out another... three or four other things, too, that I hope to start work on starting in either September or December. If this all goes like I figure it should, I'll have about six projects to start work on. :D
I'm more or less in planning/research stages right now, trying to get everything ready to go. Then the writing frenzy will begin! :D

I started writing a novel after last NaNo and am still working on it. I took a few months off and am not working hard on it. It's just some free time stuff. It's called "Rarity" and its a YA Romance. I'm enjoying it a lot, but am psyhed for November...

So far this year I've done crap >.> I wrote a short story, and from that basic concept/main character I started a graphic novel script. Still haven't passed page eighteen and that was back in March. Having spectacularlly failed NaNo four years in a row now, I'm hoping this November I'll actually get something done. I'm taking one of last years NaNos that only got a few hundred words in and I'm rethinking how I structure it, fleshing out characters and plot, etc. I'm hoping that by November I'll have something that will actually carry me to 50k.
Oh, and I have tons of sewing to do too. And I'm trying to slog through summer classes and taking a full load of classes this fall. Thrilling. Lots of stuff to keep me busy, I suppose.

I've been working on my supernatural story called The Awakening. Now I'm 41,000 words in, which makes me really happy. I've never actually written anything past a novella before, and I'm sure this will definately break my chain of unsuccess. Otherwise, I've been planning my nano 2008 fantasy series (called the Collectors) and entering into contests. So far, I've won one of them. Now I've got two writing contests won! Besides that, I've been reading like there's no tomorow, working on my website (writershaven.tk), watching an endless amount of anime's, listening to classical music, watching myself become a vegetarian (something about meat is now making me sick, which aggravates me), and celebrating being promoted the youngest president of my library's Tech Annex.

For a little while, I was working on editing last year's NaNo, but its proving to be a daunting task and moving along a bit slower than I would like... primarily because I keep procrastinating at it. In the meantime, I have recently begun work on the sequel to last year's NaNo, which may prove to have been an iffy decision considering that the first story will probably undergo massive changes when I do get through the editing, so the story I'm writing now will have to have massive changes, too, so preserve continuity. But I couldn't hold off any longer; I've been thinking about this new story non-stop. I've only written about a chapter so far, but I think it has the potential to surpass the previous story. I think I have some more interesting characters, and there is so much more natural tension and conflict as a result of the climactic events in the previous story. So exciting!

I'm working on a novel I started in late April. Then I had to decide on my 10th grade project for this year, and I made it to finish this first draft and then get well into at least a second draft. It's forcing me to get it done and working pretty well. It's going slow, but if I'm going to do the second draft for NaNo, I'm going to have to speed up a bit.
I have soooo many new ideas I'm going to incorporate into the second draft. It'll almost be like an entirely new story. It'll be great. The plot and characters will be better. (The writing... not so much. :P)
If I feel confident enough in my story when I finish it, I might aim for publishing... I have several friends in the writing and publishing businesses, so they might be able to help.
Thank the world for an open fantasy market. :D
*My story, Fire Mirror, is about a wolf pack threatened by a wildfire, and some of them go on a quest to find the fire spirit, who's working with the humans, because they need her to stop the fire... but in the second draft, my two(?) major characters are going to be stray dogs who believe that wolves are basically gods, and the main character will go out to find them, and then discover a wildfire in the area, and then stuff happens, and there's this plot thing by the Firebrand, a group of spirit-like beings who think the wolves are demon gods, and yeah... hopefully I'll be able to write it in a way that it'll bring awareness of the wolves' situation in the human world. The Firebrand part was inspired by the incident where gray wolves were taken off the Endangered Species List, and then people started killing them left and right.
The stray dog idea was inspired by the book "A Dog's Life".
The fire spirit and fire mirror were inspired by Amaterasu and her reflector in Ôkami.
If anyone's interested, Fire Mirror can be found on my DeviantART account (~SarurunKamui) and my FictionPress account (~Spirithunter). The latter currently has more chapters up.

Well, turns out I suffered a massive and debilitating case of writer's block during the most important part of JulNo, so I'm going to have to complete at least the first part of Bad Company during AugNo. Since there is no SepNoWriMo that I know of (Google it, and all you get is a few of my own posts on these forums), I'm going to do NaNoCoMo next month and at least finish BadCo, then move on to its sequel, Black Science. I'll choose to write 50,000 words, of course. I have to at least finish the second draft of BadCo before I start its next sequel in November.

Right now, I'm (trying to) edit my 2007 novel, because I *know* it has loads of potential and if I could just get it where I want it...*sigh* I'm also writing loads of poems, fanfiction and original, and hope to have near 150 by the end of the year (with my luck I won't even have half that many, and I already have 87! xD The logic of that escapes me). And of course, I am planning the wondrous 2008 Nano. That's actually going well. I have a great idea, a character (nameless, faceless, but not characterless), and I'm ready to roll.
