2) Finish 2nd draft of A Circlet of Stones
3) Lose some weight
4) Participate in NaNoWriMo 2008
5) Write first draft of Heaven Is Hell

Hola;)

My first draft is about 75 000 words long and the hopeful *coughcough* finish date is before 1st September. The deadline for me is the 1st October.

Now, onto my Big, Fun, Scary Goals:

Number 2 is slow and steady... or perhaps just slow. I've written a couple of sentences today and intend to do more before I go to sleep.

Number 3 is proving to be difficult. I persuaded my mum to take me to the gym (despite the fact that we had to lie about my age because I'm underage by a year) today and I clearly am not as fit as I thought I was. Slobbing around the house may be good for teenagers in general, but it's only going to make things more difficult for me.

I'm going to add another goal to my list, since I've been trying to do this FOREVER.

6) Finish ancient wordsearch book

Oh yeah, and this one.

7) Learn how to play the guitar

So... updated list:

1) Finish first draft of A Circlet of Stones X
2) Finish second draft of A Circlet of Stones
3) Lose some weight (will need to get more specific as time goes on)
4) Participate and win NaNoWriMo 2008
5) Write first draft of Heaven Is Hell
6) Finish ancient wordsearch book
7) Learn how to play the guitar

Today, I am going to get off my lazy butt (and addictive neopets - curse you, Altador Cup!) and actually do some exercise.

So far, my plan runs thus:

Exercise for 40 minutes twice a day (I really hope I can do this one!!!)
Break it down into 20 minute sessions on my dad's cross trainer.
Make sure my brother and sister are downstairs and not up, so they can't see me all sweaty like (cause then my sister will proceed to poke her 8 year old fun at me).

For neopets (yes, this is going to be a mini goal, and though not actually scary or big, it's pretty fun and I wanna get that trophy!):

Get to Rank 1 today, which means I need 16 wins.
Break it down into 4 games of it an hour : . It only takes four hours.

Do a wordsearch a day (to help improve my concentration and good.... brainage skills?)

And start learning my first three chords on the guitar.

Whew! That's a lot! Ok, here's my new new list:

1) Finish second draft of A Circlet of Stones
2) Lose some weight - 40 minutes twice a day, broken down into twenty minute sessions
3) Play four games an hour to try and get to Rank 1
4) Wordsearch a day
5) Learn the first three chords of the first major you're supposed to learn

That doesn't look TOO difficult, does it? I just want to be able to fit into really nice clothes (hence the weight loss issue).

40 minutes twice a day is quite a bit, especially if you're jumping into it from nothing (you said when you went to the gym you were quite unfit). How about starting with 20 minutes a day, then increasing to maybe 30 minutes, and then 2 x 20 minutes, etc.?

Also, do remember to have days off. You don't have to do it every day, maybe 4-5 days a week will start yielding results. You have to give your body a rest sometimes! And do different things - sometimes the cross trainer, sometimes walking, etc. That way, your body gets a better work out, as different exercises work different muscles.

But slow and steady - otherwise you'll end up hurting yourself by trying to do too much too soon (when you're not used to it), or burning out early because you don't give yourself a break!

Good luck with it all :D

Thanks for the advice! I completely agree with it:D

Today was pretty good. I went to the gym with my mum again and afterwards to the spa downstairs. I felt so sleepy!

Other than that... I really haven't progressed very far.

Yay! Today I was feeling depressed 'cause I couldn't find anything nice to wear and then I saw my old jeans that no longer fit me. I tried them on and... voila! They fit! Well, in saying that, they ARE super tight, but the fact that I can fit into them is good!

:D I'm all smiles now.

Well, ok, so far not a heck of a lot going on. I kinda lazed off for a bit on the whole exercise front, but then today I did a jog around my compound (yay... all the evil olala ladies have come back from their holidays) and then afterwards did A LOT of tennis. And this was all on about 4 hours sleep (if that).

On the other front... did a couple of sentences for novel, haven't really gotten any further.

Right. After being lazy for a couple of days, I went to the gym yesterday for my mum's birthday (because we both like exercising with each other and then going to the spa, PLUS I get in for free because she has several 'bring along a friend so we can get more people to pay for this over expensive gym' cards) and I did ten minutes of running at 8.0 on the running machine EASILY!! I didn't have to look at the clock and think, "Oh God, I've got another two and a half minutes to go." I just... ran. I listened to a writing podcast while I did so, so it was pretty awesome! AND THEN... getting changed into my swimming cozzie (one piece - my mum would eat her own eyes before she sees me get into a bikini), I thought, wow, have I actually LOST SOME WEIGHT??? It's a miracle!

On the writing front - I lost about 3 000 words of my novel, which I'm pretty annoyed about. I've also started AugNoWriMo a day early due to extreme boredom, so that should be fun.

Guitar - nil. I WILL PLAY GUITAR TOMORROW.

Wordsearch - equally nil.

Ok, well I woke up feeling pretty awful today, so I've taken a paracetamol and hopefully it'll kick in soon. Today, I want to:

Progress on A Circlet of Stones - I'm going to try and Bluetooth it to my parents' computer. That way, I can use Microsoft Word (yay!).

Sleep a lot and do absolutely nothing whatsoever on losing weight since I'm very, very tired for some reason.

Guitar... hmm... I actually got around to starting that yesterday. I learned G, A, B, C, D, E, F and G, which means I've got one octave sorted. I've also learned the chord C, which is good. I also play the flute and piano, so it's easier for me to learn all the notes, etc. because I already know how to read music.

I'm still nil on the Wordsearch book. Damn you lousy wordsearches!

I'm also doing AugNoWriMo, which means that I'm going to add another goal (another two, actually):

5) Finish first draft of The Time Lords
6) Start and finish first draft of Donnovan's Redemption, the sequel to A Circlet of Stones

Updated list:

1) Finish second draft of A Circlet of Stones
2) Lose some weight
3) Wordsearch a day
4) Learn the first three chords of the first major you're supposed to learn
5) Finish first draft of The Time Lords
6) Start and finish first draft of Donnovan's Redemption

I failed the Rank thingy:(

Well, today has been good so far. I didn't eat too much at lunch and I've written about 1,500 words on my AugNoWriMo today, so I've only got 500 more words to go before I'm done today.

I've started to write again on A Circlet of Stones, which is really good. I'm planning to get 2,000 - 3,000 words done today.

I also learnt a new chord yesterday on the guitar - G7 on C major.

And again... no wordsearch progress. I'll just do loads on the plane on the way to England.

I've decided I'm going for the big 100, 000 word mark this August. That means spending equal time on my new novel and rewriting my old one at the same time.

So far, I'm equally captivated by both, which is really good because that means my writer's block has VANISHED!

I'm also listening to some really amazing songs right now, some of which you may or may not have heard of:

May Angels Lead You In - Jimmy Eat World
In Too Deep - Sum 41
The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy
Out of Place - Gavin Thorpe
Photograph - Nickelback

Ack. Ok, my goals are kinda dying. I'm still determined to finish the second draft of A Circlet of Stones before NaNoWriMo '08 because I'm doing the sequel.

The weight loss thing kind of stalled and then today I woke up and felt ready to go on. I'm writing some more and I played tennis for an hour in almost unbearable heat.

Hm... Guitar thing is also kind of dying a bit, but I'm going to do some more today. Or tomorrow. I'm definitely not going to put things off any longer.

Update on Goals:

1) Working at snail's pace towards it.
2) This one's on hold for now because I'm doing AugNo and I CANNOT write AND kill myself trying to lose weight at the same time.
3) This is just a failure.
4) Done! I learnt C, G7 and G in the key of C major!
5) Actually, I'm halfway there.
6) That's reserved for November!

So, I did a bit more guitar today, and my fingers are verging on the slightly sore side. BUT I GOT MY GOAL! So now I need a new goal in place of that. I also learnt lower D, E and F.

My new 4) is:

Learn six chords of C major.

I've already learnt three, so this is fine. Three more to go.

1)Finish second draft of A Circlet of Stones
2) Lose some weight
3) Finish wordsearch book
4) Learn six chords of C major
5) Finish first draft of The Time Lords
6) Start and finish first draft of Donnovan's Redemption

Hola!

After two weeks of no internet, I am finally back on track! I have actually done some stuff, which is great! I've finally (and boy, do I mean finally) figured out what the last book of my trilogy is going to be about! It's good because it explains why certain people were in certain places, why things happened, etc.

I'm back at school. Yay me. This now means that I can actually have a proper weight loss regime, although it all depends on the temptation.

I practised a little guitar yesterday, since I felt rather homesick, so that's coming along (slowly, though).

I FINALLY did a wordsearch! Go me, go me! *waves pompoms in air*

Weight loss regime going well so far.

I'm on a roll! I've written several pages in two days, so I'm rather pleased with the progress I've made. I've also made good progress with prologues and epilogues, something that I always enjoy doing.

Ack! I've had the most horrific news. Well... only if you're an inexperienced flute player like me. My Ceidlih Band teacher wants me to 'blow over' the rest of the music at one point using really high, loud notes. Me no likeh. Me likeh low, quiet notes. Plus this is all with very experienced people who are on at least Grade 4 or 5. I've not even passed my Grade 1 exam.
