Introductions

I suppose this region needs an introduction thread so...here we are~ Introduce yourself to fellow Connecticut members and whatnot. Anyhow, the name's Caitlin from Windam County, sixteen, and this is my second year with Nano. Aiming for gold this time after unforseen problems last year.
Colchester/Norwich etc area meet ups?

There was a thread about this before the site was redone and then the server went down, so I figured I would make this again.

I was wondering if anyone living in/near Colchester/Norwich/Hebron/Manchester/Waterford would be interested in trying to do some meet ups during November. My part (Colchester) of Connecticut has no ML, so it's pretty much up to anyone living in the areas I live in/near to get things set up. I can't really ML (I don't have the leadership skills and it would be a little iffy because my work schedule varies each week so I wouldn't know until each Friday when good days for meet ups would be), but I'd love to just go and meet up with people. We did one meet up last year that turned out good but I would really like to see more than one happen this year- and I especially would love to go to a kick off party. My house, unfortunately, would not really be good for such a thing, so I can't offer to host it myself. :|

Umm. So, yeah. Anyone interested?

I would need two or more weeks in advance of the date(s) in order to get a day off and go to the meet ups, if that helps any.
Middlefield, Clinton, Durham, Madison,Killingworth Area writers - this post is for you!

Just wanted to give y'all the heads up that the Shoreline Region will be having write ins in the above towns. Some of you may be closer to these than ones in your own region, so I thought I'd mention them here. Hope that some of you can make it.

Saturday – November 1st
10am – 3pm
Levi E. Coe Library – Middlefield, CT
Join us at the library in Middlefield for an all day write in. Bring a snack or drink (if you think you’ll want one) as we get a serious word count lead going on. We’ll have word wars, prizes, and most importantly a rockin’ time.

Wednesday – November 5th
6pm – 9pm
Henry Carter Lull Library – Clinton, CT
Come join us in Clinton as we keep on truckin’ to fifty thousand.

Wednesday – November 12th
6pm – 9pm
Durham Public Library
Watch the words fly off our fingers in Durham. This is another BYOF (bring your own food) and BYOD (bring your own drink) locale.

Thursday- November 13th
6pm – 8:45pm
Scranton Library – Madison, CT
This is another chance for you to join fellow writers to get the word count rolling along, and to work on getting through the terrible week two blues.

Tuesday – November 25th
6pm-9pm
Killingworth Library – Killingworth, CT
You’re in the home stretch now. Does your word count bar reflect that? If not, hunker down for a few more hours of writing.

----------
Mystic/Westerly/Groton/Ledyard Meetup

There are a lot of great places to meet up in the Mystic/Westerly/Groton area.

Foxwoods food court is great and easy to find. It has a massive area with tables.
Noah's in Stonington Borough is great for an early morning write.
Applebees and 99 just scream kick off party.

Mystic Noank Library with it's antique alcove is inspirational.

I do have several novel workshops on Video and Audio if someone wants to do a get together

Anyone for a meetup in the Mystic/Westerly/Groton/Ledyard area???

NaNo Secret Weapon... Integrity Day or Get it done day...

I've had a secret I've kept a long time. And I'm sharing it because I found a cool guy that hosts it.

Curtis!

http://www.turnontolife.com/integrity_schedule.html.

Basically you pick something. It could be cleaning the closet or organizing papers.

There's something alchemically magickal about the process, I can't describe it, but I always get a ton of stuff done. The kind of stuff that sucks the writing process dry. That stuff "done". I can write like a fiend, or the wind, or at least a Nano-ite determined to finish before the deadline.

Anyhow... It's FREE except for any long distance charges. FREE

http://www.turnontolife.com/integrity_schedule.html To sign up.

To give you an idea of what it's like. "The "I", is Curtis.

=========
RESOURCES

Integrity Day Guidelines:
http://www.TurnOnToLife.com/text/IntegrityDayGuidelines.pdf

Integrity Day Pre-Call Exercise:
http://www.TurnOnToLife.com/text/IntegrityDayPreCallExercise.pdf

How to Host Your Own Integrity Day:
http://www.TurnOnToLife.com/text/HostYourOwnIntegrityDay.pdf

================================================
INSTRUCTIONS (Have these handy on Integrity Day)

1. Decide what project or list of tasks you want to complete during
Integrity Day.

2. Call in to a special conference line using the telephone number
and passcode that is provided when you sign up.

3. Be ready to introduce yourself and declare to the group what you
want to accomplish during Integrity Day.

4. I will present a few key principles to help get you motivated
and focused. This first call will last no more than 10 minutes.

5. Then, we all hang up and get to work! Crank the tunes, get your
energy as high as possible, and get stuff done!

6. At the end of each hour, you'll call in again to the conference
line. This is where the magic of Integrity Day happens. Each of us
will take 30 seconds to report on our progress, and then declare
our goals for the next hour. The energy on these calls is
contagious, and you'll be amazed at how invigorated you feel.

7. Then, we all hang up and get back to work! This process repeats
for a total of 5 calls.

8. In between calls, I'll be available for on-the-spot coaching.
Call me you're feeling stuck, frustrated, or
distracted.

9. The final call will be a wrap-up session. You'll take a minute
to share your experience, and I'll say some final words to help you
keep the momentum for the coming days, weeks, and months.

It's an amazing secret weapon.

----------
