Update on Kick-Off Party and Write-Ins

Hey again! I will not know my Saturday (November 1st) Schedule until This Thursday and I won't know the next weeks until Thursday next week.

As of Right Now I am thinking we could do the kick off Party Saturday or Sunday (Around 6:30) depending on which day I am off.

I am planning 4 write-ins.

1 In Michigan City
1 In Valpo
1 In Merrillville
1 In Chesterton

Not sure on dates or times yet, I will post threads as they get a little nearer.

If anyone has any other Ideas, Feel Free to NaNo Mail Me!

Hey all... anyone else in Fort Wayne? the surrounding area? Well just asking because I am going to talk to a couple of Librarians I know at the Down Town Library about having NaNo parties there, and I would hate to be all alone!

PANERA BREAD - SCHERERVILLE - SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Should anyone care to join me, I will be holding a mini-write-in at the Panera Bread in Schererville on Rt 41, just north of Main St on Sunday. I plan on being there in the afternoon and you'll know me by the bright yellow shirt I'll be wearing.

Even though I'll be hunched over my laptop and typing away, stop by and say hello. I've either belonged to, or been the moderator of, several writers groups, both here in NWI and on the East Coast and I've had several short stories published over the past few years in magazines, weekly papers and in an anthology.

Hi everyone!

I am Anni and I am your Municipal Liaison for the year!

I live right in between LaPorte and Michigan City Indiana so a lot of the events will take place here or in the Valpo/Merriville area. (Sorry to people that live out side that area, but with the cost of gas + school +job + family commitments, I have had to limit my time)

Look for a post soon about the Kick off party (I am thinking Saturday the 1st at Panera Bread in Valparaiso.)

Let me know if you have any other ideas

Hello everyone!

My name is Jack and I'm smack in between the Chicago and the NW Indiana groups.

I've belonged to and moderated over a dozen writers workshops / groups here in NW Indiana and on the East Coast. Plus, I've had a few short stories and poems published in magazines, books and newspapers.

Living in Munster, IN and working in Westchester, IL (near Oakbrook) makes it difficult for me to go to NaNo gatherings either in Chicago or in Valpo. Either way, it's another 40 minutes to an hours worth of driving, which I am really loathe to do.

If any of you NaNo writers out there in the following locations would like to meet at the Panera Bread in Schererville, I'd be happy to work with you to pick a night (or afternoon on weekends).

(If you write me there, I'll give you my cell phone number and we can discuss it and/or I'll set up a Yahoo group).

I'd really like to set up a write-in for Sunday afternoons, if possible. If not, Tuesdays and Wednesday nights are usually best for me, but my schedule is flexible. (I just don't feel like driving another 40 miles to meet with people when I can use that time more constructively either cooking, eating, cleaning or *best* WRITING!)

Let me know if any of you are interested. I KNOW there are a bunch of you that can't get to Valpo or Chicago, so here's your chance to get together with other locals!

Hi all,

I just wanted to take a breather and say I just finished 6K words in ONE DAY! Yay me!

And I wanted to say how happy I am to see Fort Wayne seems to have the most writers in Northern Indiana. Yay us!

And thirdly, I'm happy to report I'm successfully tispy on my third glass of Pinot Grigio of the evening. $2.97 per bottle. Yay Wal-Mart!

So anyway, how's everybody else doing?

Is any here from LaPorte County?

This is my second year doing NaNo but the first where I'm actually stepping out and trying to connect with others in the area.

I was able to finish last year thanks the the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and am looking forward to trying it again this year. Well, maybe "looking forward to" isn't quite right. Maybe "dreading but ready to jump back in" is closer to the truth.

I've yet to see or hear any response from my plot bunnies or any other plot animals so I've no idea how this year will go.
