Fifth Meet/Possibly Last Write-in

Yes, I say possibly last because I will be leaving during Thanksgiving week and will therefore not be organizing anything for that time, though if someone else wants to organize something, that's fine. ((I'll still happily organize a Thank God, It's Over party, but that wouldn't take place in November anyway, hehe.))

Anyway, the previous write-in was fun...if you can call it a "write-in". When me and Qaddafi are left alone together, we don't get anything done and just talk, talk, talk about whatever nonsense goes through our heads. *snickers* It's fun though and we help each other with plot points and whatnot, but we tend to not "write" at "write-ins" unless someone else comes along. *snickers*

So, would anyone like to participate in one more write-in before Thanksgiving week? I don't know people's schedules and I'll try to pick a date and place that's good for most of the participants once again, so definitely speak up and let me know what works for you. ;) Let's see...we've been to Penny Lane, Panera Bread, The Donut Bank, and Barnes and Noble...we could either revisit one of those places or we could try something new. Let me know your thoughts. I love Penny Lane personally *snickers* but since I'm not the only one going ((I hope???)) I'd like to have a little input on what others would like.

Fourth Meet/Third Write-in

Hey, forgot to post this earlier...or just procrastinated. *snickers* Anyway, the turnout on Saturday was excellent! I'm hoping for another write-in like that. :)

Anyway, we didn't quite reach a decision about when and where for the next write-in, so again, it's up for grabs for suggestions. One person suggested Barnes and Noble as a possible place, and a couple people suggested that it not be done on Thursday by any means since that day is bad for them this week. Does anyone else have any suggestions for places and times you do or don't want? Feel free to post them, and let's see if we can get something figured out soon. ;)

Princeton Meet Up?

I know there are some of us in Princeton, and I know I can't go on Saturday nights, or for that fact, it's hard for me to get together with y'guys at anytime. I have a baby most of the time, because my husband is working afternoonds now, or if he's not that, then he's sleeping because he works all night some of the times too.

But y'know that Denny's on 64? Just outside of Oakland City? I was thinking it'd be fun to get together there. I could walk there if necessary. =D

Third Meet/Second Write-In

Well, I'm still being labeled the unofficial leader for whatever reason *snickers* So okay, I'll post this thread right away then. There were only two of us at this last write-in, but it was a blast. We didn't get much writing done ((well, any, actually, hehe)) but we did help each other figure out our plots, which was a major help...and then we talked about everything else while we were at it. Meeting up with just one other goofball is fine by me, but I like to extend the invitation to other goofballs to join us if they will. ;)

So...I haven't decided quite yet on a place and time I'd like to try just yet. I'll let people suggest a few things before I pitch a suggested place and time. Any ideas?

football. I wouldn't say that football is getting in the way. It's just damn hard to write and watch at the same time. I'm such a huge fan and get a little too excited. I was going to post about writing at the First Avenue Starbucks tonight and inviting everyone to join but then Cleveland announced that Brady Quinn would be starting. Can't possibly miss this!

I would -love- to do a write in or actually meet people through NaNoWriMo... but I like just north in Oakland City. =S And currently, am without a car. Gotta love that, huh? So, I may not be able to attend, but I'd like to feel in the group, y'know?

Second Meet/First Write-in

The first meet was a lot of fun, hehe, and I've found that I'm in quite good company in the insanity department...to say the least. *snickers* Those of you who were there know exactly what I'm talking about, I'm sure. ;) That poor guy on the couch next to us ran off as soon as he could, he was so spooked, lol. I'm guessing that means we were a bit too insane?...Nah, he was just too serious. :P

Anyway, since it appears I've been designated the unofficial leader for whatever reason, lol, ((I guess I'm really chatty on the forums. I'm not nearly as "leaderly" in person, hehe, but I can certainly write...hence why I'm doing NaNoWriMo :P )) I figured I'd start this next thread first...not to mention that I was also the first to think about it, hehe. We didn't come to an exact agreement on when our next meet would be, or where...so...anyone got any ideas?

But yeah, that was a lot of fun, and I look forward to the next meet. Those of you who didn't come, you should seriously come next time. ;) It's fun getting so insane that we make innocent boys run out of the place screaming...okay, that didn't happen, but still! :P

Oh, and Tracy, make sure you watch/read Fullmetal Alchemist. *shakes finger* Without even thinking about it, I bring it up every 15 minutes, hehe...you might as well at least have an inkling what I'm talking about. *snickers* The plot is actually, good, I swear! LOL!

Anyway, I guess I'll let you guys go and let my insanity high dim back down to normal...you guys bring out the worst in me...which is the whole point of the meet ups, I'm guessing. :P It was a lot of fun, and I hope to see you all again in a few days. Good luck, and take care!

How Many of Us?

Do either of you know how many NaNoWriMo's were here last year? I can't remember but I thought about six or seven. I didn't get to the meets but would like to this year.

I work 8-5 downtown so, if you are in that area, I frequently do lunch at McDonald's on Main. Not always at noon but anywhere between 11:30 and 1:30. I'm the woman with the bun probably reading a book. I look a bit like a librarian... well, I've been told that.

How are you doing plot wise? I'm going to spend time this week trying to prompt some ideas. I've had a couple but they didn't grab me and say WRITE!

Starting a New Year of NaNoWriMo!

Wow, I'm the first one to post here in this region? I guess I'm the most zealous out of all the Evansvillians, hehe. All the same, I figured I'd post and figure out who else was here. By all means, come in, introduce yourself ((even if you've been doing this for years, as the newbies won't know who you are, hehe)), and if you already have your novel planned, feel free to share it with us! :)

As for me, my name is Melissa, I'm 24, and I've lived in Evansville since 2003. I managed to win NaNo last year, but what I ended up with didn't quite resemble a novel, so I'll have to rewrite it someday, since the idea at least was good. ;) My novel this year will be the second in a series of stories I'm writing about this boy from this glowing alien race who comes to Earth as an exchange student to try and get help for his dying world. By this point in the series, he will have not only gotten that help, but will have been made the ambassador to Earth since he logically knows the most about the people of Earth, and will therefore periodically travel between the two planets. The only problem is, by this point in the story, some people are angry about how his arrival on Earth spawned a drastic change in society, and they don't like it, so they want revenge.

Well, now my kitty's come up and said he wants attention, so I guess I'll close this and give it to him. ;) Hope to meet some of you soon! Take care, and have a nice day!
