Darn it Sara! You beat me to the first post!
I am ready to write, though about what I have no idea. SO EXCITED!!! Here I was, thinking I'd have to wait for October - Chris Baty, you rock!
Anyway, welcome welcome! We (Sara and I) are your MLs again this year. Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Send them our way. We like to be bothered. And I don't bite. :-)
We're going to have a lot of fun, writing and meeting together! Stop in and say hello! We're very excited to have you on board.

Hello!
This will be my first NaNo and I'm pretty excited about it. I'm a planner so it's hard holding off until November starts (or a week before) but I'm doing my best!
Does this group normally meet? Where and when?
Nice to meet you,
Amber

Yay! NaNo! I'm hoping to actually get the 50,000 this year (which should be fairly easy, seeing as my book has almost no plot). And, is that candy-pooping moose still our mascot?

Last year I got to 15,000 and change, and this year I'm hoping to get to 25,000. I got really sick after the first week last year, which hampered my progress a bit. xD
I have no plot this year! I have a few very hazy ideas, but nothing definite. So maybe it'll work better this year. Maybe I'll even get to some of the meetingthingermabobbers!

Hi all -
Can't wait to start again! I finished last year, even though we spent over a week on vacation.
This year will be the same, off on vacation in Nov. for almost 10 days. Yikes!
Have to just give it my best. Good luck to everyone!

Hiya folks! I signed up to do this whole month-o-craziness last year, but never even got a chance to start.
Boooo, me.
But this year I'm committed to giving it the ol' college try, for real-like.
Yaaaay, do-overs.
Yeah, so to echo another poster's question, is there anywhere in particular that peeps meet to do group writing? That Jumpin' Juice and Java place over on Chandler is pretty good, spacious, and comfy. That might be somewhere to look at. And while I haven't been there, my friend raves about the Z Cafe on Main. Problem is, their hours are very limited, as they close daily at 3 pm. But they're VERY willing, apparently, to stay open late for groups and such, and I don't believe there's any particular charge for it. I think they just want to know people will be sucking down coffee and scarfing food.
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know y'all, over these next couple months, either here or in person at crazy-ass-writing-fests. Best of luck to all!

Hey everyone!
This is my first year attempting NaNoWriMo and I'm excited! I have a little plot in mind, but I think it needs a little development before Nov 1.
Good luck everyone :)

Hi!
Yes, we often meet at Moose Creek in Leominster, and at Panera Bread in the Worcester/Shrewsbury area. But we're open to new places if they work better.

Hello everyone,
I attempted to do NaNoWriMo a few years ago but that just kind of fell flat. So I'm going to give it another go this year. I think I have a plot that will definately reach 50,000 words... yeah, okay. ;)
I can't wait to get started though! It's going to be intense, insane fun. :D

Reporting for duty!
Muse is still sending me different bits of different novels. I wish he'd settle down and start chewing on something solid.
Looking forward to another win... Hopefully. Only 1/3 so far, and despite having two other novels in the works at the moment, I'd like to improve my tally. Wish I could join for writing sessions in the area, but I have no car and no free time to boot. (One must wonder how I ever get NaNo done at all. :P)
Cheers, everyone!

Woo! ^^ Hello, everyone!
I won for the first time last year (been NaNoing since 2003), and I'm hoping for a repeat performance this year. And maybe I'll actually make a write-in this year, now that I've got a laptop!
Nice to see you all!

Hey everyone!
I'm a newbie to this, but it looks like fun so I'll give it a try. :P
I really hope to win, but seeing as I'm also a full time student, this would be almost like taking an extra class :P
I'm gonna try my hardest though! I have some crazy ideas marked down. Hopefully I can get through all of them before the month is through.

I can't wait to start. This year I'm definitely going to get to one of the write-ins, too. Hopefully I'll see all of you there.

Wow, my sixth NaNo already. That's incredible. I've won three, had to bail on one because of an injured thumb, and just didn't finish the other two times. This year I have no idea what I'm going to write -- we'll see what happens on 1 November.
I don't usually go to many write-ins, partly because it's a long haul to most of them and partly because I'm more of a loner. But best of luck to everybody!

Hey, nice to see a couple other people from Worcester. I'm planning on totally winging the plot. I'm probably the youngest person here, so I have nothing to lose. Good luck to everyone!

Being the youngest person in here is an honor that must be fought over by you, me, and CaptainAcacia. Though I doubt I'll win, being almost 15.

My sister just turned 14 last month, she has a friend her age doing it, and ledasmom's son has participated in the past. Though I'm not sure if it was official, or how old he was.
Any other kids around?

This is awesome, very encouraging to know there are tons of loonies out there doing this- this will be my first year...so you guys actually get together and write? or talk about your work to help each other with inspiration? Sweet!
At least 3 others from my writing group are gonna give it a try... calling our group a "writing group" is not accurate at this point, as none of us... well, NO ONE IS WRITING!!!

I know this is my first year (and I'm not suppose to be organizing anything) but I was wondering if anyone is in the Oxford area? There is a bakery/ice cream/coffee joint that is reopening Nov 1st and they offer wireless internet. I don't know their hours but it might be a good place to meet up.
Just putting it out there...

hey Amber, i'm from Auburn, and this is my first year too :) so i'd definitely be up for cool little meetings. what's the name of the place? i have an idea of what it could be, but i'm not sure.

I believe the place is called Udderly Delicious. I've only been there once but I guess there is indoor seating. Is that the one you were thinking of?
Another option would be the Oxford Public Library... they are open until 8pm Tues-Thurs. Unless, of course, you know of another library that's open later. :)
