So, NaNo officially kicks off in November, but, it's tons of fun to write at any time of year. I am therefore proposing a few pre-NaNo writing events (above and beyond a fantabulous Kick-Off Party), to get those creative juices flowing. Any suggestions as to locations/times, please let me know. (Hint: this is a fantastic opportunity to introduce me to your favorite writing location up close and in person).

I do my best writing on a PC at home, though my second best writing comes from scribbling in my notebook during my breaks and lunch at work.

If anyone wants to get together for a potluck lunch at my apartment, I don't have much in the way of dining room tables (actually, it's the computer desk right now) but I'd arrange for my husband to be gone (kids are gone.......don't ask, long story, but they will be back before the end of the year and possibly even before the end of NaNo) and we could get together to chat before NaNo officially gets started. We'd have to schedule for a Sunday or Monday afternoon, though, since those are my days off.

I'm also on the lookout for good writing spots too, so if someone else has an idea and can do it on a day I'm free, I'd love to see where other people in the area do their writing. Especially if I decide I have to escape from husband and kids to get some writing done once in a while. Hard to do that when the computer I write on is in the dining room of my not-so-big apartment.

Welcome aboard! Are you the official host for our location? Not applying for the job, only wondering if you are our spokesperson/guidance counselor. I would love the chance to sit down with another writer and ask questions. The bad thing is I live over in Lewisville/Idaho Falls so I'm no less than five hours away and like you I'll be fighting for computer privileges and petitioning for a drive to Boise probably wouldn't be met with cheers of encouragement.

I'm struggling with the topic of my story. All I know is I want to write but this time I want to steer clear of the typical topics. I feel like shooting myself in the foot and we haven't even started yet!!!

This will be the third year I've joined in the celebration. I love the adventure of writing unedited for a whole month. It brings with it a freedom of expression not found in everyday life. For me, writing it a way of turning on the switch and restoring e

Actually, machorse is the official Municipal Liaison. I didn't want the job again this year. Too much else going on in my life. LOL But I was ML for two years, once as a co-ML and once on my own. And I know all about the fighting for computer time. I don't like staying up all night, but since I get off work at 1:00 AM I do get SOME time in after work. Of course, I need sleep once in a while, or I get cranky at work and with my family.

I don't mind being a cheerleader, and if you've got MSN Messenger, I'll PM you with my sign on name and you can always chat with me that way.

I wish I could make it to Boise and meet everyone but that's not going to happen this year. We just drove up to Poulsbo Wa and then back each way a 14 hour trip. The thought of hopping in a car and driving into town for a gallon of milk gives me the shivers. To IM you I need to down load msn messenger, I'll get to that once the head ache of last nights trip home wears off. The last two times I've embarked on the writmo I felt like I was just out there and spent most of my time guessing what I was supposed to be doing. Both times I ended up giving up, this time I'd like to make sure I'm more involved if possible. Do you know how this is done or is it possible?

Hrm ... Locations and stuff?

Uh ... There's a Moxie Java with couches on Vista Ave. Conveniently located beside Blimpie's and a bookstore.

I figured couches were a requirement. My batoose gets awful tired of my kitchen chair.
