Are there any other OU or area writers this year? Last year, I believe I was one of only two Oakland students doing the NaNo.

I'd love to meet up with area writers this year! There are some good locales on campus, as well as in downtown Rochester. Hope to hear from more writers soon!

Well we are looking at probably something, maybe Sundays at a Panera on Telegraph near Orchard. Thats not TOO far from Rochester.

I'm not the ML I'm just going from last years schedule... There will probably be a thread in a day or two talking about scheduling meets.

Probably. I'm really hoping that some Oakland students turn up, since it'd be great to have a meet up between classes on campus, or in the library one night.

I'm also at Oakland! I know of a few students on my floor at West Vandenberg and the floor above who are doing NaNo. :)

NaNo parties for the win! :DDD

I'm on the floor above you! :D I have a NaNo flier on my door and a few people have taken tabs. I am so up for NaNo parties too! The floor lounges are pretty big. We could take over one of those. Are there any independently owned coffee shops in Rochester? I think it'd be cool to hang there; I have a thing against coffee shop chains, but that could be because the dude at Caribou hasn't smiled at me once whenever I go in there. ):

We definitely have to meet up. This is awesome! I'm so glad you posted in the thread. :)

I live in Waterford and work in Keego, so I'm pretty close. I'd like to finally make it to a write-in, but considering I work 45+ hours a week and participate in a weekly Exalted game, I'm not holding my breath. ^_^

Ha. Is it a little ironic that I work at the Panera in Lakeside Mall on Sundays?

I'd be down for meeting someone one day. I work at the Caribou Coffee across the street from OU at Walton and Adams. Glad to know it's not just me and my friend doing NaNo!

I joined the Facebook group! It's so exciting seeing so many people from OU, definitely more than I would have thought! Do you guys know what you're going to write about yet?

It looks like we definitely will be meeting up a few times! Right now, the best spot is the campus library.

Are there any days that do or don't work for you guys? We could do a weekly meet up, or maybe every other week. (Or maybe every day, if you're that motivated.)

I have no idea what to right about. That makes me nervous because I always plan ahead. My husband's all set though. He's going to novelize his D&D campaign that he runs during game nights on Fridays at OU.

Hey there, Wrimos!

Take a look at your calendars. What days are best for meeting on campus? What times? I'd like to try and find a few meeting options which fit the majority of us writers.

Feel free to PM me about this, too. I'll gladly take on the role of OU Wrimo Rep. :)

Mondays afternoons/evenings are good for my husband and I. Tuesdays after 3pm might open up during November as well.

Some of us are meeting up at Caribou on Walton/Adams/15 minutes from campus somewhere on Monday, the 20th (yeah, tomorrow. Sorry for the late notice guys D: ) at 8 if anyone wants to come and chill with us!

As for on campus, I'm good Mondays and Wednesdays before 3 and Tuesdays and Thursdays after 5-ish are good for me! :3

Bummer! I have to work tonight (the 20th)! If you want, you guys can come visit me at Jimmy John's on University between Squirrel and Opdyke.

I work til 7, and then have paper to crank out tonight, or else I'd totally come.

I'm thinking Monday nights, starting at like 6 or 7, would work well in the campus library. Tuesdays are pretty impossible for me. Wednesdays during the day might work. Thursdays work pretty well, but my weekends are a mess.

I don't think the library would be a good place to meet on campus. I think we'd be too loud. We could meet in the 24/7 computer lab in the OC by Cafe O'Bears. The OC is open until midnight. After that, you swipe your card at the side door facing the library to get in. What do you think?

I'm not at Oakland, I"m actually just down the road at OCC, but I recently applied to Oakland and I'd love to be able to participate in this group! Isn't there a Starbucks on Squirrel and Walton (or somewhere, not exactly sure) that would work?

Tharidra, I'd have to disagree with you. The only place in the library where you actually have to be quiet is the third floor. The fourth floor is set up for loud and rowdy group work, as are the more private rooms of varying sizes. We'd be fine! The library is also open until midnight.

Where you all want to go in the wee hours of the morning is up to you. I need my sleep, and nothing, not even NaNo, can take that away from me. lol

And Imelda, you're absolutely welcome to join in! There is a Starbucks there, but it sounds like our group might be a bit big for a coffee shop.

I'm interested in meeting and discussing writing and NaNoWriMo! I've never done it before but it sounds fun, kind of intimidating though. So it would be great to talk to some people who've done it before and see what they have to say on it. :)

wordpainter, I'd suggest starting a new thread for this. Seems like all the threads we've got going so far are about meeting AFTER Nano starts, but if you want to meet before (which I think is a really great idea, by the way) starting a new thread would probably be the much more productive than commenting on this one.

Hope this helps,
~Imma

Imma - meeting before or after doesn't matter much to me, I probably can't meet this week anyway as I've been scheduled a few more days at work. I'm willing to meet whenever anyone else is :)
